Incidentally, no other polity or religion has yet demanded the removal of content from the site in this manner. Appropriate that first are delivered courtesy of the religion of peace.

Naturally, the irony of some worthless medievalists flaming a site which includes content their religion expressly prohibits them from viewing is likely lost on them.

Hey Fairos, over here in Holland, there was some big news that was regularly mentioned along with the threats that islamists sent to the cartoonist from your country. You might have heard of it, because both the Danish cartoonist and the news I'm about to post about became international news rapidly.

Theo van Gogh was a Dutch filmmaker who often openly criticized the islam and was working on a film that depicted some of the evils of said religion.

Mohammed Bouyeri murdered Van Gogh in the early morning of 2 November 2004, in Amsterdam, in front of the Amsterdam East borough office (stadsdeelkantoor) on the corner of the Linnaeusstraat and Tweede Oosterparkstraat, while he was bicycling to work. Bouyeri shot van Gogh eight times with an HS 2000 handgun, and Van Gogh died on the spot. Bouyeri then cut Van Gogh's throat, nearly decapitating him, and stabbed him in the chest. Two knives were left implanted in his torso, one attaching a five-page note to his body. The note (Text) threatened Western governments, Jews and Ayaan Hirsi Ali (who went into hiding) The note also contained references to the ideologies of the Egyptian organization Takfir wal-Hijra.

It's unbelievable how far islamic extremists go to defend their faulty religion. It makes me angry just reading this thread.

They both originated in Indonesia (though I'm not going to bother investigating whether these were proxies or otherwise), so it's reasonable to presume they were genuinely aggrieved parties, not that one can ever be sure.

well, I want to say it's only two. at the same time, I'm even surprised that this was the first time someone even took offense to what you post, not to mention you posted plenty worse then the image.

Hang on guys, I know the first one looks like troll material, but you can't be so sure of whether it really was. I think the author of that message had absolutely no intention of just trolling around. I mean, the forums are a proper platform for trolling, but if I understand correctly, that message was mailed directly to Artefact.

Besides, I've seen and heard live threats like that being outed right in front of me. Muslims do it at the slightest negative attention their religion gets. I live in a city with 80,000 muslims (13% of the city's population) And go to a school that's approximately 92% muslim. (Not that such threats mean much...)
