Well... I don't agree with being racist.
But there's many things that has happened in China that the general Chinese people aren't very proud of.
China is a country quickly swept into the modern business world with an political structure made for the 60s. Communism WAS great... But it won't work with today's world at all.
China disputes this, advises everyone they are still a Communist country. But the changes it has made to make business and trade possible, clearly defies its core Communist ideals. Let's face it, Communism today in China is a lie, and China is getting sloppy in covering it up.
There's a sense of "gold rush" in China today, many people are looking to "make a quick buck". From the milk infant formula scandal to many, many other embarrassing poor business practices is a proof of this. Sadly, there's tons of such incidents unaccounted for - and many more noticed by the public eye. Eating at a nice restaurant in China? Think twice. The oil they are using could have been "recycled" from a factory down the street...
Nothing is truly safe in China anymore, with everyone's mind on making a killing then vanishing before authorities could catch them. Its pretty sad.

You are true to some extent. the "gold rush" feeling as well as the sloppy standards and lack of regulations coupled with an overall lack of moral ethics in the city often give the entire country a really bad stink.
My dad deals with property & oil in China (Asia/Russia but it seems that a lot of stuff goes through China these days) and the stuff that happen there is unbelievable. The people generally have the mentality to strike a quick deal, make a quick buck and 'vanish'. He has had money and stuff chalked off because of such people. Its really like the Wild wild west frontier in a sense and some of the people he deals with, is obviously not selling him out because its better to have a long term relationship instead. Seriously WTF sometimes
