The allowed markup is just standard HTML and BBcode - if someone knows a good guide I will link it in... I shall also likely prepare a few guidelines for tags later.
I gave the matter of dates versus "time ago" some thought and eventually settled on time ago - it enables one to tell at a glance the freshness of a post.
Having seen the kind of mess forums with huge signatures, massive animated avatars and poster awards and what have you degenerate into, I am inclined to keep things clean and simple. The user profile page currently isn't linked in to the user display, but I may make that more customisable and link it in.
P2P matters are still under consideration...

Would it be possible to get a "posts since last visit" system set up? It's much easier to be able to continue reading from where you last left off, as opposed to searching an entire thread for the last post you remember.
Aside from that, these are great forums, really simple, easy to read, design. The community all seem pretty great too, hopefully it'll stay that way in the future.

I will take a look, but isn't this possible using the feeds which are provided for just about everything? You can create a "favourites" feed which will return all new messages in the topics you select too.

This is what I've been doing, and it works reasonably well. The only thing is that you have to remember to manually add a thread to your favourites. In some forum software like vBulletin or phpBB for instance you can toggle a setting that will subscribe you to a thread automatically when you reply. I think if you could figure out a way to get this automatic subscription it would be even better (though it's probably not a trivial addition), but the current method is okay.

SC isn't that big a forum yet, maybe we should wait a bit longer before getting mods? 'Cause, we don't really know which members are gonna be active/sensible/etc, yet.

As requested, I have added some "unread posts" functionality (unread posts are underlined), as well as pagination links on the topics.
Should there be any problems or suggestions, please leave word.

As a perfectionist, I often like to revisit some of my posts so that I can add additional relevant information to a single post, for example. This would be especially useful for index-type posts.
