Video Embedding Added

  1. You can now freely add videos to your posts.

    This is accomplished like so:

Just paste in the link: http://jp.y-utube.com/watch?v=B4F8Cv4Ix80 (no dash)

The link will be automatically converted to an embedded player:

I have set the embeds for YouTube to automatically embed the HQ version if it exists.

Please tag video related topics "Videos".

In addition to YouTube, the following video sharing services nobody has ever heard of are supported:

    myvideo
    funnyordie
    collegehumor
    redtube
    dailymotion
    sevenload
    glumbert
    googlevideo
    liveleak
    metacafe
    clipfish
    gametrailers
    vimeo

Now I have to go and beg Nico for embed permission...

It would be best if they permit it in your forums.

I've been wondering,... what do you use to embed videos at the blog?

  11. The main site uses JW Player for those we host ourselves, others are obviously just normal embeds.

    CC

Very nice, so now I can finally share this awesome product demonstration video:

Play the part starting at 0:55 at full volume and you'll get some strange looks. They're for sale on jlist btw ;). And the description says it's the same Seiyuu as CC.. only reason why I found it in the first place.

Btw, if you can.. a way to disable the autoconverting might be nice as sometimes you just want to link instead, and currently it even wrecks the bb code for an url around it to make a video out of it.

  14. Will it automatically convert to High Def as well? Actually... lets test it out

  15. It will convert to HQ, but not yet HD. The problem is if you (the conversion code) put in the flag for HD and there is none, it defaults to LQ, not HQ...

It could be hacked so people could specify in the URL which it is, but I'm not sure if it can be done properly - any ideas anyone?

Gah.. I don't know what's going, but as soon as I try to post this video
"fecking you know what tube dot com slash watch?v=m0Z1JFRPlpg&fmt=22"
    My post gets trashed.

Anyways, take note of the &fmt=22 at the end, that's supposed to force HD and I wanted to test it. Think the spam filter needs to be turned down a bit.

Okay second test.. hopefully it wont eat my post up..

(P.S. Failed trying to link another 'hd' vid.. spamfiltering dislikes the & sign in urls?)

Exceeded the maximum time one is allowed to edit his/her own post I guess, so let's try again (read the spam filter got turned off in another post).
    Crappy Quality:

    HD:

Doesn't seem to work or at least they seem the same quality to me, does youtube even allow embedding 'HD' ?
Seems like the forum software it to blame though, <embed height="360" width="480" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/m0Z1JFRPlpg&rel=1&ap=%2526fmt%3D18"/>
Same url on both of em, which seems to enforce HD, but messes up the dimensions.. not that this forum design could handle 1280 pixels width.

(Hah one of my old posts popped up out of nowhere due to the spamfilter change.. now I do look spammy :()

Quen - Say which post/posts you'd like deleted CC, if any, and I'll sort it out and remove this edit.

Apparently those traps spring up everywhere.
