I have updated the search features on the main page. Now you can launch the search straight from the main page, and search both the forums and the Channel separately.
Should you notice any problems, or have any suggestions, please feel free to leave them here.

hmm... it doesn't look natural
IMO I think it's way better if you put it on the right sidebar on top of the "recent news"
Is a button preferred? I see many good sites without them.
The sidebar spot is a candidate, though the spot is earmarked for other uses so I'm not sure whether I'd put it there.
I would say its easier from before though before was already easy... A button would be helpful for those less fortunate people that wont know what to do.
