Legend of Chun Li fails in Japan?

  1. I lost the link, but from what I remembered what was written

Japanese reporters are more interested in the Chun Li cosplays by the group AKB48 rather than the movie during the launch of Legend of Chun Li in Japan

    edit: found it

  2. I just saw the US trailer on TV, there marketing it as only a "Street fighter" movie, not really mentioning Chun Li as the lead. They are banking on those who bought the new game to come and see it. Don't know how it will do.

  3. Kristen Kreuk has done all sorts of promotional work over in Japan, but very little here in the US. I think they're hoping the movie does well there considering they probably already know how it will do in the US.

FYI: Street Fighter wasn't made available to US critics for screening, which signals the fact they know it will get savaged by them: http://www.netharuka.com/recent/no-street-fighter-for-critics/

  4. for me kreuk is the ONLY reason to see this schlock.
couldn't be worse then the first but needs a fat guy in a towel fighting.

  5. I was disappointed in the other street fighter movie so i dont see any reason i should watch this. If this was mortal kombat then i would have a twinkling eye right now.

Oh definitely go see it. Some movies are entertaining from the sheer fact they're bad.

Send us a report as you will likely be the first Sankakuian to see it.

  10. A reviewer mention a lesbian dance scene with Kreuk and some other woman, Cantanna(sp?) in this movie. That alone is enough for me to pirate this movie.

Otherwise save your money and go to Watchmen.

  11. I just blogged about this film.

Initial reviews are what you expect: scathing.

    IGN: 1.5/5
Other site reviews were about as bad, ranging from -5 out of 5 to grade D.

It's on pace of getting some of the worst movie reviews possible.

Interesting how something like Transformers can be passably good, but for every one of those there's a Dragonball and others.

Well, I haven't watched the movie yet, so I'd best hold my opinion off for now.

I'm holding my breath for a live-action Robotech movie by Harmony Gold that's guaranteed to tank! Toby Maguire as Rick Hunter? Genius!
Well, how the casting and directing will work is still confusing anyway, but I don't expect much.

urggh robotech. I hate how they changed the Macross storyline and make Hikaru (or Rick) as a playboy after the series ends. I grew up watching Macross, and Hikaru's love triangle with Misa and Minmei was a good storyline

That's why I'm upset that rumor has it Harmony Gold wants to get its mitts back on the project.
I'd much rather see a "Macross Saga" than "Robotech" LA movie for obvious reasons.

lol, my friends suggested that we should go watch this, and I was like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, its epic fail"

but yeah. They aren't listening to me...so I guess they'll be wasting their money's worth.

Which reminds me, the other Street Fighter movie starring Jean Claude Van Damme was awesome.

yea, there was a scene like that but trust me it wasn't hot, lesbian was fugly and Chun Li, not much better. The scene was very short too.

The movie for the most part, bored me!
