  10. Those who spend more time in 2D, are those who can't cope with the 3D world. Sad to say, I'm one of those.
Reality has too many problems in it. It far out-weighs the happy counterpart. That's why people put 2D in their lives to make it their reality. But doing so may confuse and make it hard to distinguish what's real.

A good way to tell them apart is:

    Fantasy-Good.

    Where as:

    Reality-Bad.

  11. As stupid as this sounds, since my earliest memories I was more at peace looking at cartoon people than real people.

For some reason I'm stuck focusing immediately on all the little points of contrast on people skin (freckles, spots, any areas of contrast that aren't part of a smooth color gradient).

In our the 3D world, whenever there are little flaws here and there in a person's skin tone, it takes all the focus and concentration I have to will myself to look past those flaws (or aspects of beauty, in some people's opinions). Even a single spot ends up being all I can keep my eyes on. Just one, and it does nothing but gnaw away at me.

It was infuriating as a kid, especially because nobody else seemed to think that way. It's still pretty annoying now. Funny how some things just never change.

Cartoon characters almost always have clear, soothing color gradients across all of their features. When animators draw them with "beauty spots", it's not like I have anything against people who think of nuances like those as beautiful... I just can't look at such characters/people without my mind screaming at me about there being out-of-place-seeming contrasting elements in the scene.

    -

Don't get me wrong. I like the existence of flaws in people's personalities, fashion sense, whatever. Perfection is overrated.

It's just this visual issue. There was even a time in my life I couldn't write a period down after a sentence, I just always used semicolons ";" instead since with those at least the dot is part of a broader pattern so it's not so bad...

Anyway, this is why I currently own my own neodymium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet laser and use it frequently. Seeing points of sudden contrast in other people features is nowhere near as punishing as seeing them on myself.

    -

Signs point to this being some kind of clinical issue (maybe a brand of detail-focusing OCD?), but meh. Relatively harmless. And good motivation to keep studying virtual AI, since only in the realm of abstractions have I ever been able to honestly feel peace...

I wouldn't call it "those who can't cope with the 3D world", it's more like people who can't deceive themselves to like the 3D world. If you can't belive in the way you are living, who else can?!
And don't go on using a word like "real" so easy...everything changes with the point of view, reality is just what you make of it in your head. /pseudo-rage end

I was thinking about tl;dring, but nobody would read it anyway, so: 2D>3D period.

  15. ~ I have been thinking on this and so I approach with my answers:

    +
2D can always look how you want them to look in any way

True and its dependant on the current design of said 2D, as they change over the years in style and creation.

Their appearance can be changed to the way ~ YOU WISH IT ~ through PaintShop/Photoshop programs and be adjusted to suit your means and desires.

3D can give you real warmth of a human body

Though 3D is amazing and human contact is needed, 2D can render the same ~ "effect" ~ thus the creation of the Daku and by the means of adult toys which add to the stimulation of said effect.

3D can give you the feeling somebody will always wait for you

You used ~ "feeling" ~ as in sensation and so I will place 2D in the same cata, as I stated before in my Devotion manifesto, 2D can render the same effect.

It's limited and dependant on the person and how they precede such action.

2D doesn't need to shave their body hair since they have none

I agree.... saves on the cost of beauty aides.

3D can hold your hand being outside of the house

(for me) this rather difficult, though not really,

As I must roll around in the wheelchair by my own means of propelling, so this does not phase me nor is a requirement for me.

Besides ~ she can always - *ride* - on my lap, thus giving her a reason to wrap her arms my neck as we speed by the rest! :3 :P

~ (plus) she would NEVER have to walk or get her feet/shoes dirty.

NO ONE pushes me while I am in the chair, which is "why" removed the handlebars, which were a annoyance, and give people - *an excuse* - to start pushing me.

3D can give birth to your children

I have no need to add more children to my rl lineage, I have a son, and had a girl who was - taken away at the same time - as was my rl first waifu.

    Enough said.

3D can suprise you with gifts

My 2D is always surprising me with the BEST gift, and that is illuminating and stimulating my imagination. and to me that's a gift.

2D can't throw things at you if you leave them

2D would not ever have to worry about such things, because I will never leave her.
3D on the other hand, have a tendency to become overly emomelodramatic over the smallest of things.
    Which gets on my nerves...

    -

2D won't be only yours always

I disagree with this, as my 2D waifu is ALWAYS there for me, and she never wavers in her devotion for me.
Granted ~ this devotion is possibly a delusion on my part, but its still a devotion that I believe in.

She may be a (everyone else's) in some way or another, it doesn't matter, its the same with 3D, the 3D counterpart is always coveted in some way or aspect as well, though - (MOST) - of the time, its a hidden covet.

3D love to have mood switches for wierd reasons

    See my explanation ^above concerning ~ emomelodramatic's

    2D may be a trap

    True...

2D merchadingse of your waifu cost lots of money

Being that I am retired, I can enjoy all the perfections of waifu merchandise, because I (actually) shop around for the BEST deals and never buy (off the cuff or by mere joining the masses).

IF I am going to spend money on my 2D, trust me it will be well-worth the expense. ~ (just as I did with my 3D counterparts)

2D will never have true feelings for you

I disagree, because one never really knows the (mysteries) that can beheld within a 2D characterization.

One never knows if (some day) a animu episode may come to life.

Living as in living, not imagining? Well, then 2D has no cons at all since it would be real when you live there. ^_^
Pro is you can choose what life you want to have from a huge selection from stone age to SF settings.

Considering this I wouldn't waste a thought on my old 3D life.

  17. Once again, i agree 100% with Deth's POV
    Particularly with the

"I disagree, because one never really knows the (mysteries) that can beheld within a 2D characterization.

One never knows if (some day) a animu episode may come to life."

I think i've mentioned before, but i sometimes wonder if fiction, and the idea and/or inspiration of these stories are really just in the heads of their authors, and not have a deeper meaning. The universe, as we know it, is infinite. Accompanied with infinite possibilities. Whose to deny these anime and manga we enjoy as a hobby might really have its own genuine dimension?
    Summary= 2D>3D :3

  20. Until 2d is capable of giving bjs during anime or games, 3d wins imho.
