   Yes to Freedom, a Sankaku-born non-profit organization is currently looking for motivated people to help:
   

   1. Brainstorm new and resourceful ways to counteract anti-Hentai propaganda and legislation
   2. Establish harmonious relations and correspondence with the Allied Forces (the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, non-radical feminist and anti-censorship organizations, English-to-Japanese translators, similar grassroots pro-Hentai groups such as here and here)
   3. Maintain email contact with such allies
   4. Advertising
   5. General tasks such as draft writing and researching
   6. Provide a sense of community and hope to victims already suffering under these attacks

   You've seen examples of how Equality Now, Agnes Chan, CEDAW, UNICEF, and these people think. You've been bogged down by the erosion of civil liberties via the Patriot Act, Miller test, etc. You've marveled at the unchecked legal dominion that Obscenity laws hold over speech and expression.

   "A ban is so obviously right that there is no need at all to provide an explanation or data".

   ^ This is the sort of aggressive prejudice we're up against.

   Is there still a way to turn the tides in our favor when our opponents are people-hunting, idea-policing radicals who currently have the majority of political clout?

   Writing letters to try and find common ground and reason with them has proven futile. Sure as we stand on the precipice of thought crime, words alone will accomplish nothing.

   Can anyone here find us our Excalibur of freedom?

   Is anyone here brave enough to join Yes to Freedom and GET SOMETHING DONE?

   I'll be blunt with all of you.

   I've been following the state of Obscenity and Censorship laws for years now. The way things are looking, if nobody stands up to make a difference at this critical time, then roughly about 70% of Hentai and Eroge as we know it will become more illegal than cocaine and first-degree murder. It technically already is in most 1st world nations. There have just been (fortunately) very few court cases about it.

   Japan is one of the last remaining 1st world nations where such Orwellian laws have yet to successfully spread their infection.

   In only a matter of years it is reasonable to expect harmless and innocent virgins (with zero interest in ever committing a legitimate crime) to be listed on life-long sex-offender registries, side-by-side with murderers and rapists. Expect to face prison sentences >20 years, longer than murder. There will be raids on 4chan/2chan servers, and police knocking at your door for downloading or purchasing cartoon doodles, eager to put you in a box and on lists for decades to come.

   All over what? Fiction. Words and lines on paper.

   Yep.

   Even today, it is already legislatively possible for a person to be punished more for writing about fairies having consensual sex with each other on paper than for stabbing a real person to death.

   Outlawing unorthodox written and drawn sex-fantasies would mean unapologetically confining a law-abiding citizen under the pretense that doing so will help to prevent the thought, the fiction, from becoming reality. This is despite how most fantasy themes under review for criminalization involve silly mythological creatures (such as elves, fairies, angels, demons, aliens, etc.), and the erotic circumstances frequently have literally no plausible correlate in reality.

   This is what we face unless YOU can think of a way to prevent this despotic future NOW while it's still in the embryonic stage.

   We have a few potentially good plans of action at present, but lack enough motivated, pro-active members to go forward with them.

   Join. Help. Or simply watch what happens.

   Especialy since fiction should be unlimited,but given proper age marks.
   And adults are allowed to see everything in fiction,since it doesn't really hurt anyone.It's like even adults can't see things that are only for adults anymore.
   And give some points why is it people fault what they do and not the content.
   It's called the decision in ones mind.They always try to blame the content for things in fiction -_-.

   Seriously, these sick fucks are idiots beyond human comprehension. As you wrote even if you have perfect evidence against the ban, they will just ignore it because "A ban is so obviously right that there is no need at all to provide an explanation or data".

   Their point of view is one of "morals" and (religious) ideology, not logic.

   I kave a question. Will japan ever stop censoring genitals in hentai? Is their anything trying to stop to stupid censorship on 18+ stuff? It seems to me that censorship just causes frustration which leads to doing something you may not have normally done.

   Actualy just make them realize that we are right and they are wrong,it's pretty obvious when you see most of people voting against the ban then for it.

   I agree my state is now under attack from the politicians here and even in their own word at least one of them didn't even know it existed. FORTUNATELY out of 89 comments on the article only about 6-8 are for if that many. Odds are if it passes well lets put it this way alaska is texas north.

    I agree i'm planning on trying to get people to write letters and maybe make a petition. If that dosn't work well i may wind up becoming a psychotic killer i tend to go insane when rights are being infringed upon to the point of reverting to an almost pure animalistic state.
    Forgot to clarify that on this state even the pacifists have guns i mean their isn't a person i know of in alaska who dosn't have at least 1 weapon.

    Alaskans may be headed down a free speech slippery slope as the state legislature considers strengthening state child pornography laws to include cartoons, drawings and animation. In other words, for the content to be considered contraband no actual human being would need to be involved.

    According to the Anchorage Daily News, the idea is supported by the chair of the House Judiciary Committee and others in the state legislature.

    "The fight needs to happen", said Aaron Sperbeck, the crimes-against-children prosecutor in the Anchorage District Attorney's Office who is behind the idea. "[Cartoon images] are almost as graphic and disturbing as real children. We need to get the conversation going."

    Alaskan House Judiciary chair Rep. Jay Ramras, R-Fairbanks, supports adding cartoons and computer-generated images to the list of photos and videos of child sexual abuse currently criminalized under state law: "I'm awestruck that it even exists", he said, adding the prosecutor "has got a good idea and I'm going to support him".

    Usa is like an infection to the whole world.They can push any wrong believe and spread it all across every country.
    Countrys usualy follow the number 1 country,which is a big problem where they don't stay independent.

    So if someone could do something about america then that would be one big step forward.

    God damn that reminded me of how much i want to live in a hostile post-apocalyptic world someday. If predictions come true it is supposed to be around 2050 but i'll be an old fuck by then. Thats why i plan to study genetic enginering before i'm 30 and develop a cure for age >XD all a part of my plan BWAHAHAHAHA!!
