Dunno if I just overlooked the option or if it's not there, but having signatures would be awesome, just a thought though :P
in case no one knows what a signature is heres an example usually an image that goes under your post and is 400x120 or any other reasonable size
something of that size etc. (click to expand and see actual size)

I will have to disagree to this. I believe the avatar is sufficient enough in representing yourself.
Lack of signatures is a conscious design choice - I'm afraid I've yet to see them add anything but tasteless animated clutter, which is just the sort of thing we are trying to avoid design wise. That said, I may consider some enhancements to profile pages at some point...

Hmmmm... I guess so. Signatures will add to the cluster and will take away from the design... owell then. But yah, adding to the profile page would definitely be a good idea... though can others actually see it?
Sigs with pics do clutter up, but a simple text one like on Gamefaqs would be nice.
Might take another look at GameFAQs - I like their setup.

Kinda funny there is a 1024 static width sankakucomplex thingy above it.. which would give sideways scrolling as soon as a up/down scrollbars shows up anyways? (1024+20px scrollbar = too width)
Couldn't find any set widths quickly going over the source though, so I might just get some attach custom css plugin for firefox.
Glad you decided to leave (graphical) signatures out, as they do indeed just cause clutter.
I can see how graphical sigs would clutter up the forum, but a small text-only signature wouldn't be so bad.
CC, there were two considerations I had in setting the width:
1. Relatively narrow columns make for much more readable text than having a single paragraph extend all along one long line. This is one reason the main site does not have a separate sidebar-less design for the post view.
2. I am interested in adding some sidebars on either side to bring it into line with the main width - undecided on content though.
Didn't notice the width issue. Should I just try to narrow it by 20px? Is that the same on all browsers?

Can't have a automated sig added to posts instead of the side panel?
Sigs are cool but should be limited to 30-40 letters.
But really a free macro program that produces your sig when you tan crlt+shift+ any key or some other 3rd party tool to insert a sig in youer psot would be better at least from a sitedev/owner perspective...since it takes effort thus will be limited in scope.....
I like sigs mind you but sometimes they are not worth it, now intuitive layout is something that must be strived for.....
The avatars are a good size,please don;t make them smaller.
