Bad PS3 publicity?

  1. If having the words "Geek Squad" on or near one of your products wasn't bad enough, Best Buy is scaring their customers away from buying a PS3.
They are apparently offering an "installation" courtesy of the famed "Geek Squad" (questionable fame that is)

For the low low price of $130 USD, you can apparently get one of these technical knowhow gurus of all that is electronic, to come to your house and install your PS3. This includes all of plugging it into the wall, the tv, upgrading your firmware, and making you an account.

The problem being this will probably change the thoughts of those that are purchasing a console for the 1st time into buyin another console, or not buying one at all. We just have to hope that Sony responds to this the same way they do to the BBC.

  2. If you can't even install your own console then maybe you shouldn't be buying one in the first place... Honestly $130? Thats like three games you could be buying with that money.

  3. $130 is a rip-off of majestic measures. IMHO the PS3 XMB is more user friendly then the Wii's "TV screens menu". I hope someone report them.

  4. Nice to see best buy is so quick to take advantage of idiots. Honestly, anyone stuipid enough to hire someone to "install" a console is beyond help.

  5. People who need the help deserve to be ripped off.
I am of a similar opinion of such services for setting up computers. Especially considering the plugs and sockets are colour coded now.

    Ah, forgot about that. ^^;
Obviously disabilities may require assistance, And I make exemptions for such. But being plain lazy about plugging in a few cables or being unable to do so if they aren't blind in any manner is a whole other thing.

  8. Apparently, some people with insufficient motor skills view the PS3 as a sort of complicated loli entertainment machine. Picture very much related.

There are much better ways to 'entertain' a Loli.

  11. My grandma and grandpa aren't color blind yet they are afraid of technology so they need help with such things as installing a PS3. And as we all know a grandpa that doesn't kick ass in a shooter, a fighter or a RPG game is not a real grandpa! Unless your grandpa is one of those people who keeps a possessed go board in his attic…

Your grandpa sounds cool. Why don't you install the system for him.

Despite all my perversions and flaws, I'd only ever marry out of love.

So buy her, then see if you love her.

Joking aside, I believe people can fall in love after being together for a long period of time such as through arranged marriages and such.

I don't think that could be accurate because they are forcing you to marry someone you don't know beforehand, although the "Love at first sight" might be a lucky shot.

Well you won't love the person right away but you can fall in love after getting to know the person. I think love at first sight is more shallow and usually doesn't last.
