Actually, it is not really that great in Japan besides at the huge towns but hell, the air is so bad there I am always sick for a week when I am at Osaka again.

No but I know someone who does. I kinda wanna go someday. Like for a trip. I'll be a tourist and see all the big attractions like Akihabara and the like. Maybe I'll go there for Comiket. But that's years down the road. I should learn Japanese before I go.

Learning japanese sounds to taxing. I'd like to learn it but its not like I'd ever use it for anything other than watching the raw versions of anime and reading the raw manga scans.

Learning a foreign language is required in my school. So clearly I would choose Japanese. At least then I'd have some use for the language.

Sure, that would actually be pretty cool. Something I wanna do when I'm good enough at Japanese, is translate doujinshi. We could set up a translation group since you've already demonstrated that you could edit. I know the fansubbing idea died but scanlations should be easier to work with. Of course we'll only translate clean non-h stuff.

My school requires that we learn a foreign language too and seeing how the dropped Japanese years ago and German just two years ago. I had to take French because Spanish is just to easy when you already know the language.

When I got to college, I could've continued french or changed language. I couldn't pass up the chance to learn japanese. It's tough starting another language but I don't think I would have made use of the french anyway.
