  2. Yea I went to Japan and we stayed in Hiroshima. They had one of these nearby and I blew roughly 50 bucks on it in two nights. It was amazingly awesome but expensive, it's like 5 bucks a pop. We had to reserve a time and wait like 15 minutes to get in. It was kinda funny as there was 20 people who were Japanese businessmen on their way back from work. You get a pilot card(which I still have) that says you're a Gundam pilot. The 180 view is pretty awesome and the shooting and saber controls is fun as hell. It works like a RPG where after every battle you get experience points and level up to get new mobile suits and weapons. If I lived there I would be going everyday after school for like three hours, forget COD4.

    I am Gundam!

    I wish I had one!

  4. It's def online but you have to be there to use the pods physically. I had four to six of my friends there(one was a huge Gundam fan who had an orgasm when he saw what I found) and we all got on the same team(I can't remember team size but it's pretty large like 6 vs 6 or something) and faced off against someone in some other center. It was fun as hell and I would do it in a heartbeat again if I had the chance. You can have mini saber duels(kind of) or have an axe instead. They have mobile suits from both sides like Zakus and GMs(I'm not a huge Gundam fan so I don't know all the names) and specialized suits for different types of combat like water or desert. It's like being in a VR unit with the 180 view. The joystick controls and pedals make it even more fun.

  6. It's kinda funny but you would assume that the Japanese would be amazing at this but they really weren't. I was a noob and after the first time, I pretty much was at the top of the kill chart for that match. Maybe it has something to do with the price that limits people from playing that much or maybe all the good players weren't on at that time. If WoW is crack then this is meth so perhaps people avoid for the same reason. They have screens outside the pod so people can watch the match in progress so they probably heard me swearing quite a bit.

    I've seen on youtube a lot from the original gundam series, would there be other gundam franchises in the game? if none, is there a chance?

  9. @Techeese
    It's a phrase

    @Ichiro

    No clue like I said I only played for a few nights. It takes awhile to get some of the higher mobile suits so who knows. The mobile suits get progressively better per series(usually) so maybe Destiny is at the very top? They might have ripped out the best suits for balanced gameplay so someone with a Strike Freedom just doesn't rape everybody. One thing that is kinda cool is the card that they give you to insert into the machine(and has all your experience points and data) has your name printed on it.

  11. From what I've read, its just UC era suits from 0079 with some MS from 08th Ms Team.... so no seed/destiny/00 or any of the other alternate timelines whatsoever. At least that's seems like how it is so far, maybe later versions will include the rest of UC (I'd love to have Nu/Hi-Nu or Sazabi/Nightingale) and/or maybe alternate timelines.

    But yeah, I'd definitely want to try this one if I ever go to Japan or Hong Kong(it has the older version)...

    I wonder if it would be like the Gundam Battle Universe series where you pick your pilot's settings (Normal or New-Type) which would limit who can pilot what(ie. Funnel-based MS = New-Type, Blue Destiny series = Normal)...probably not eh? since most people would just go and pick new type cuz of the funnels =P

    Depends. Japanese are usually up against just other japanese, and rarely does fight other countries in gaming. Thus they tend to have problem with foreigners that uses different tactics from what they are used in the country. My country's IP (Malaysia) and Singapore were banned in multiple Counter Strike, Team Fortress and COD servers in Japan as players from these countries tend to pwn the Japanese badly
