I haven't seen the actual interview so can't tell if this is reliable information, but maybe this will make for an interesting news article. The promised lack of dual audio is certainly quite disturbing.

why make something worse in order for it to be the same on all versions? O.o
Doesn't make any sense. If the XBox sucks, just make it worse for that console only. Don't ruin my ps3 version >.<

Nah, the Xbox is actually slightly better. Problem is, HD DVD is dead, so Xbox games are DVD again. 4.7 GB against 25 GB BluRay for PS3...

Shit are you serious? I kinda figured it was still kept around if only for the x360. I didn't expect it to be completely deceased.

4.7 GB is a single layer. the 8.54 GB double-layer DVD is what Xbox 360 uses.

No actually the ps3 is more powerful. Just look at Uncharted 2 and Gow3 - two best looking games.

50 GB (dual-layer)Exactly. A single-layer BR holds 3 times the data a dual-layer DVD does. The result is you either use multiple discs or cut or both. So what can be cut without taking away anything really important? The second language sure was damn high on a quite short list...

These games suck out all the ps3 can deliver. The Xbox is a typical M$ product, much power is needed for it to function properly... err... to function. ^_^

Well, the way I see it now is with the current gen of consoles out is that they are at high graphics setting ( with a few extras missing compared to PC ) and PC can go beyond that ( very high + ) Because of that I'll post what someone else said about the matter.

Anyways, I just enjoy games : )

He is serious, MS refused to use HD-DVD for games ( which I think helped it's downfall ) and since they only had movies to try and keep afloat. HD-DVD was beaten out by Blu-ray because it had the PS3 & movies to back it up.

HD-DVD is completely dead, it lost the war with BluRay. As for the XB360, it certainly isn't better than the ps3. The hardware f the ps3 wins and the only reason why >some< games look better on the xBox is due to sloppy programming. Read the article, the reason why FFXIII got worse is because of the xBox, not because of the PS3...

Hmm. I knew about the removal of the dual audio part for at least half a year now. But the "many areas you visit at the beginning of the game will most likely not be available towards the end of the game" thing is very much disturbing. I always hoped the PS3 version will be released first, and only then an XB360 version be made. If the article is correct even the Japanese market, which will not receive an XB360 edition at all, will also suffer because of the evil that is MS.

no probably not, cause the ps3 is the only machine this gen being held back, maybe in multiplat pc games shine as being "superior, but in exclusives pc is odd man out, ps3 exclusives look down on anything pc has, and thats fact, so no pc isnt being held back by ps3

I think it might be more to do with storage limitations of the DVD format, despite the 360 version likely being on several discs. After all, the PS3 is much harder for developers to develop on or get to grips with, which was why in the earlier days (and still today), some PS3 versions of multiformat games look worse in one way or another (eg Ghostbusters, the SEGA Bayonetta port). In the cases where the PS3 was the lead platform or first party games there tend to be no such issues however.
Besides, why complain anyway about this? The development costs for next-gen development have been understimated anyway.

they did this so 360 owners can't complain. even PS3 is more advanced technically.
granted there's good games on both platforms. I have both systems - too bad!
