However old news may be in your hint for the sequel, might take a click here, here and here.I posted a news on the re-making of Munto which will be remade by that anime studio and never released a news on about the 2nd season of Haruhi, and I believe that KyoAni will surprise us with this, may be it is confidential because of its popularity, and KyoAni has strategies that made them popular, you cannot tell.

the biggest hint for the S2 for me was from newtype...think that was a year ago.
well I guess it's worth to wait ^^

Well, KyoAni is definitely going to do a second Haruhi season, they can't possibly be that stupid to leave such a popular franchise, they also got some things to patch up =)
I sure hope that KyoAni will make a Planetarian OVA (or something similar) because:
a) KyoAni got some sort of partnership with Key
b) KyoAni have already made Kanon, Air and Clannad so Planetarian is naturally next in line.
c) It's an awesome kinetic novel so it has to be made into an anime!Well, Toei may make it if KyoAni doesn't... it's better than nothing.

Okay, Munto will definitely be the next one, they apparently already started to stream a trailer for it:

ah! I'm not a big fan of Toei, I don't hate them but I don't like them either, well... except for their Kanon version which is the ugliest thing made by mankind... and their Clannad movie. However, Toei isn't the only ones that hides references in their animations. KyoAni made a few, ie. the Kanon cameo in Air, maybe not as obvious as Toei's references but still...
