   The integration of the main site and site forums is now complete, in its first iteration at least.

   Posts made on either side will show up on the other. On the forum side you may also:
   
   Edit your posts.
   Use the formatting tools.
   Add images and videos (images are not exported to main, videos will stay as a link).

   Seeing how the system works in operation is the best way to improve it, so its progress will be observed closely.

   A few additional features are already under consideration, including marking site posts on the forum and allowing them to be filtered, and creating a more versatile post threading/reply system which can function seamlessly across both sides of the site.

   Another change under consideration is requiring users who post comments to register if they wish to post as other than anonymous, as a considerable amount of abuse of pseudo-anonymous names has been going on (users impersonating other users and even myself are amongst the most egregious examples).

   Issue #1: I am pretty sure quotes don't make the journey back to main.
   Issue #2: Making a nested reply on main doesn't translate into a reply with a quote on the forum causing confusion here.
   Issue #3: The integration as it is now will lead to the board being inundated with the mainpage to the point that the forum might become a clone of the mainpage.

   I'm not the most enthusiastic about forced forum topics, but it could be interesting.

   Excellent idea, one I support 100%.

   Edit: I'm also worried that main page comments will bump the related forum threads so that the original forum topics previously being discussed will disappear from the page.

   Issue #3 is a big point indeed. This will forever change the face of the forums as we know it. If that is a bad or good thing, I don't rightly know at this point.

   We might actually get some sancon related discussions in here instead of the god knows how many adolescent fap threads and flame threads. Any change is better to what we have now.

   The forum community has already stagnated. Change is probably good in that respect too.

    I believe I mentioned something like this in one thread. That is exactly what i would like to see. I would also like to see page numbers for Latest Discussions below its section. I shouldn't have to click on the Latest discussions link under Views to go through the pages of Latest Discussions.

    There is no need to merge both forums and the main page (threads-wise), actually.
    "Discuss this post in the forums" sounds rather silly, since it's the same as posting in the main page just that you can add pics and use the BB codes.
    Also, what's the purpose of "Recent comments/Forum posts" in the main page? Most of "Recent forum posts" will be the same comments as in the "Recent comments"...
    I'd rather see something like "Recent comments" field in the forum than this whole thread thingy...

    Some good ideas and feedback - thank you.

    Regarding cleaving forum posts and main posts, I am thinking it through carefully, so I value your feedback especially. Solutions shaping up at current are a mixed view with Firo's two paned front, a system with main topics given some highlight or icon and made filterable (via the "filters" view which could be moved up), and a simple solution of directing all the main posts into a forum of their own (though I am keen to promote admixture of the two so I do not support this), and perhaps hiding them.

    I was considering looking at paginating the forum front page a little earlier in fact. I will most likely do so, and shift the tags down to the bottom as well.

    The recent comments/forum posts will either be merged or more probably fixed.

    Also the issue with parents not showing will be fixed a little later, most likely by a ">>" link to the parent on the forum side.

    Wish #2: The ability to preview posts before they are posted.
    Wish #3: An icon next to threads indicating what threads I have posted in.
