-AION- Official Sankaku Complex legion thread.

  1. I've lurked Sankaku Complex for some time now. I don't know about you, but I can say that this place means something more to me, because it STANDS for my beliefs. Now to get to the point, I heard about Aion a while back, and grabbing myself a Beta key, I thought I'd check the game out. And in doing so I've found it to be addicting: fun, exciting and refreshing. Sankaku Complex is also an addicting part of my life, I can't stop refreshing the main page/reading articles, and browsing through all the hilarious comments. I've decided to put two things that I love together. Does anyone else share this same interest?

Simply put, I'm creating a legion: Sankaku
It can't be the full name Sankaku Complex, sadly. Reasons being they won't allow that many characters for a legions name. If you'd like to be part of this LEGENDARY moment in history post here, or feel free to send me an email.

Sankaku is now open for recruitment:

    Starting server is TBA.
Starting race is TBA/Will be decided via POLL (Discuss. Highly prefer which ever race is more eye candy.)
Requirements to be recruited: Frequent Sankaku Complex, and up to my own personal preferences.

    Need info on the game?

    Discuss this more in depth?
    Email: somoe@live.com

Ask as many questions as you want. I'll respond accordingly.
    Will update thread soon.

Can't wait to play this come friday, open beta's from 14-17th peoples. Come look! ;)

I picked Asmodian because I like that they have a dark, scarred history which made them stronger, as opose to the Elyos who have a bright, religious history which made them arrogant.

As for Eye-Candy, I haven't yet played the game so I dunno what the ingame graphics will be like. So long as it's still open-beta I'll probably try both sides...

What classes are y'all planning on playing? I'm liking Sorcerer for PvE and Gladiator for PvP...

  3. So far I've played chanter, they have some pro ass buffs. Also tried out a ranger, they're OK have some unique stuff, but I'm still waiting for it to wow me. It hasn't been to thrilling playing a ranger but I'm sticking with it for now because it's semi-enjoyable and I like the ranger class overall. But most likely when live hits I'm going to be playing a cleric. Since healing is probably the thing I most enjoy, over doing damage/raping things. I like to keep things alive, and they'll also be in short supply, as will tanks. That and knowing I'll be on top with heals is a good thing. Won't have to let my friends worry about that small detail.

Overall the game's enjoyable I have yet to attempt the PVP, but will do so this weekend. Game's graphics depending on your PC settings... all I've got to say is this game is going to amaze you, it looks beautiful. Both races are drooling eye candy, although I do favor the Elyos more. Though that doesn't matter because of the customization. Each race also does have unique perks to them, skill wise, and action wise, such as emotes, battle music/character differences in and out of battle, etc. Don't be fooled by the Asmodians, yes they had a rough past, but they are far stronger/believe themselves to be superior than the Elyos and are threatening their peaceful way of life. The Elyos are not really arrogant though, no reason to be. They didn't even know the other side existed until the tower was destroyed.

    I'll post more later.

I'm gonna play all the classes in the open betas to get a feel for them. That way I can start on something I like when the game goes live :)

In games so far I've always played a DD. It's what I feel most comfortable with (I love to see the damage tick away ^^). Watching out for aggro (enmity) isn't a problem for me and I like to have a set role to fulfill in party PvE. So Sorcerer looks very tempting :) Sin and Ranger also look like solid DDs.

In the wiki it said Ranger runs into money-trouble with his arrows/traps. Have you noticed this at all? If that's the case I may hold off on the Ranger till I've gathered enough money to keep him stocked with good ammo...

I'm also looking forward to PvP :) I'm liking the Gladiator here because of his dmg/def combo, though it's impossible to predict how balancing ends up and how much solo/group pvp there is.

  5. Nah money isn't even an issue, yeah the items are pricey for a stack. But there's a ton of quest that give decent cash, and most of the garbage items you pick up can be turned into easy cash at the shops. It's not too much of a hassle to get money at all right now. But I'd imagine that pvp will rape your wallet especially if you use them a ton, you'd have to buy a huge amount of traps though in order to do that. And I mean traps are situational as well. Arrows are cheap. 1k will net you 1k arrows, 1k = nothing. For traps it's like a stack of 10 for 700, and the higher level is double the price so 10 for 1.4k. The price will stack up if you buy huge stockpiles of them. But really I don't see it being too expensive now. That and there's always money in crafting as well/gathering. End game I don't think money will be an issue anyways.

  6. I won't be joining, but I am interested in seeing what server you guys roll on.

I played CAion up to level 20. Then I pre-ordered a CE, but I haven't played many of the betas so far.

I'll probably roll sorc but I might roll cleric depending on what my guild needs at launch and how much I like it.

Rangers were super gimp in version 1.0, which is the version the closed betas are in. When the game launches in NA/EU, it will be version 1.5. I think rangers are still underpowered, but not by much. At first they had a lot of trouble with skill use time/animation. They had a few instant cast skills but the animations were 1 - 2 secs long so they got screwed over. Also, they have long skill cool downs. The traps are pretty expensive but arrows cost almost nothing.

Yeah that's fine, I'll post the server info that I have decided on sometime soon, most likely during this coming weekend for those of you who are interested. If possible it'd be good if we were just all around on the same server. At least people would know of us, and have some sort of social tie.

  8. Too lazy to read the info....
Can i ask if this game is free 2 play or you have to pay every month?
I haven't played i MMORPG in an age but i wouldn't mind to join you guy if i can.
So from your post i suppose the game is still beta...when will it launch (officially)
You seem to be a beta tester.....so could you tell me if this game will take time?I know MMORPG always make you invest a huge amount of time but some may differ from the other cuz of the lvling rate
So if the game take like.....forever just to reach the next level i may don't want to play it

The game's due 1st September. They've had three three-day closed beta periods. Now there's two more open beta periods coming up, the next one is scheduled this friday to sunday. You can check the schedule here:
    http://www.massively.com/2009/06/16/aion-summer-beta-schedule-revealed/

From what I've read, leveling the characters is realtively easy. The game will also have pvp which is great fun if you've got a regular group you're teaming up with. It's realm based, so you can chose to play as one of two races and those end up fighting each other in the pvp.

The game does have a subscription fee (something like €13/month). The graphics look incredible, very anime-stylized, so you'll need a decent pc to play it.

    No...

    It's just pushed back =x

This weekend 14th - 17th there will be the 6th and final closed beta. Then there will be a wipe.

Sometime in September there will be an open beta, followed by a wipe.

A little after that, pre-selection starts. People who pre-ordered can make and design characters and choose their server, but not actually play the game yet.

On September 20th, people who pre-ordered get to do the "head start". They get full access to the game 2 days ahead of everyone.

The game officially goes live to everyone in NA on the 22nd.

Does pre-ordered mean that I buy the game sometime before the 22nd/25th? As for the beta periods, guess the infos I had where outdated. Looking forward to the 14-17th though, I'm gonna be playing for 72 hours straight xD Do you know at what time the 14th starts? Is it GMT or what?

Yes, pre-order means you have already ordered your game online.

You do realize that this weekend is a closed beta and that you cannot participate in it unless you have a special beta key. You receive the key when you pre-order (or you can win a key in some promo sweepstakes, etc).

Closed beta 6 is primed to rocket onto the servers on Friday, August 14, 2009, noon PT (8 p.m. BST, 9 p.m. CEST). Our beta forums open their gates two hours earlier, and access to them will be ongoing throughout the weekend until Monday.

Well in that case I've preordered the EU version and already got the key. Game's already installed too, just waiting for Friday 9PM now ^^ Thanks for the infos ;)

Well when you buy the game online, you get a key that can also be used to play in the betas. I suggest you buy it a day earlier though, because downloading that shit takes hours and the installation isn't fast either.

Also, be sure to use the game download link that's provided to you in the email they send. I tried downloading it off their site, and it grabbed the US version which only ran at liuke 8KB/s. Then I looked again, took the link from the email and it was the EU version which ran at proper speed ;)
