  2. How about Yen Press? They're my favorite. <3
Del Ray is a close second though.

I hate Seven Seas.. they hardly ever translate more than two or three volumes of anything before dropping it.
Tokyopop's been really disappointing lately, too.

Maybe they just happened to acquire manga series that just takes more than 1-3 months to release another volume... Just look at kodomo no jikan and Gunslinger girls. For example Kodomo no jikan takes 1 month just to release a chapter.

They tried picking up KnJ, but either way... no, they've dropped series.
They drop them all the time. Look at the light novels - they put two volumes of each one out, and then went 'oh, sorry, we're completely getting rid of light novels because they aren't selling', when Strawberry Panic only had one volume left.
They do the same shit every year - two-three volumes, and then BAM, they're all gone.
It's been like this for as long as I've worked at the bookstore.
I hate them with such a bloody passion. Hate, hate, hate.

    They might, who knows.
I didn't think they were going to drop the light novels since we couldn't keep them in stock where I live, nor could other areas (unfortunately, they're STILL selling)... and they were gone in the blink of an eye.
I suppose that's when I realized there was a problem with that company. If anything sounds interesting that they bring over now, I'll look it up in Japanese and buy it from Mitsuwa.

I remember they weren't able to release KnJ (or rather, were scared pussies) because a bunch of mothers got together and were protesting about it. So they took it off their schedule.

Do you follow the JDM (japanese domestic market) trends? You didn't know but maybe a series was cancelled in japan.

For nearly every series every single year?
    I highly doubt it.
They've announced dropping of series themselves, and when people ask, it's always the same thing - 'people aren't buying enough of it'.
And it can't possibly be true for every series when I see things like what happened with the light novels. They refused to even up the price to how much other companies charge for light novels. They just gave up and said 'oh well, too bad'.
For over three years now, they've only struck me as being a company that doesn't really try.

I don't quite understand the question you're asking.
If the UK takes it, then they take it. I don't see what that has to do with the USA.

Well then, that's a good thing?
I wasn't sure whether you understood that each country can get the rights individually or not from the way you responded... sounded like you thought that the US couldn't get it if the UK does.

Either way, I buy it in Japanese, so it's no big deal for me. >.>

Yeah, fuck SutoPani. As long as my Hayate X Blade keeps coming out, whether I have to buy it or get it from a scan group, I really don't care.
