Empty space on wallpapers is nice though. ...imo
Or if you really want to use it, you could stick all those shortcuts in the empty space.

If you open the image in MS Paint, there's a "flip image horizontally" button at the top somewhere. It's hidden in a dropdown menu called "rotate", I think.

You could also:
Left click the desktop,
highlight "View"
unclick "Auto arrange"
click desktop.
Now you can drag the icons anywhere on the desktop and they'll stay.
