Your Figure Reviews...

  1. Greetings ~

Well... My Waifu (finally) arrived and I must say that I am not disappointed in the least.

    However, before I start ~

I searched through the other Topics and didn't see one that indicated a "review" of figures, so I wanted to start one and here it is...

Here is my review of - Katsura Kotonoha - a (quick) one for starters and also begin and open this thread for your reviews of your figures...

What you liked about them, what surprises you didn't expect, and your personal thoughts about your new arrival...

    Here goes...Katsura Kotonoha

She is a 1/8th scale beauty in a box and I am impressed with her...

I saw the pictures on the sellers site and I loved them... but to see her (the figurine) in real life is another matter.

    I was blown-away.

    * She came in the box, very nicely, neatly packed, and all loose items/accessories were taped down to prevent movement or becoming loose within the box.

    * The figure itself is a one-piece PVC figure with (very) few loose parts and sits on a white base - which she is (already) positioned on.

She has some flexible items on her, such as the skirt and hair, but she is not pose-able...

    * The figurine comes with the following accessories:

    a. 2 faces... the face that has the eyes that are *full of life* and the other which are known to be *not full of life* version.

    b. Blue mobile phone (complete) and detailed

    c. 2 extended hair strands, which are to be placed on the left and right side of her hair.. this adds to the figures look of windswept.

    d. The figurine come with the blue/white trimmed travel/school bag... which feels like it has a (head) in it, because its heavy, and because as you hold it, you can feel the outline of the head on your fingertips. ~It does not unzip nor open.. however, it is nicely detailed.

    e. She is dressed in her trademark School Days Uniform with the thigh high stockings... EXCELLENT!

    f. She also has pink pantsu which appear to be skin-toned coloured that (at first glance) appears that she has none on, but does... a nice touch to the illusion.

    Score:

    My score from a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being the best)... I give it a 9.8

The reason is, since she is already on the base, she appears to (lean) forward a little bit.. or has that illusion that she does... thus my rating of 9.8.

Other than that small item of concern... she is perfect and I HIGHLY recommend getting her if you are so inclined.

Cost: About $87.87 (dependant on your location for shipping).

    (edit):
Please excuse my crappy piccies, I will take updated ones as soon as I am able...

  4. Its a lovely figure! Though the eyes creep me out a little. but excellent nontheless.

The only figure I own is a 1/8 haruhi. Its an alright figure despite how low it cost me.

I just had to make sure, not the best question I've asked, admittedly.

    Not at all!

    Please review away...

Let us (collectors) know what the Pros and Cons are... it a win=win situation.

  13. She's a pretty plain figure, but I'm glad you like her.
I try to get all the figures with the awesome poses... like that GSC Saber Lily that's coming in at the end of this month. <333

Then again, I have gotten some plain ones in the past, but these days I'm more likely to pass something up if she's just standing there without some sort of nice pose. I suppose I've been getting more picky with my money since I started collecting dakimakura and other merch other than just figures.

Ndeed, there's - *just* - something about this figure that casts a certain spell over me...

Maybe its the changeable face/eyes, I prefer the dead/lifeless eyes.. and maybe its it's simple, plainness of it, that casts that extra creepy allure...

I do ~ have a few with (action) poses... the earliest ones are my Kei/Yuri from Dirty Pair... but they are stored away and it would be too much of a PITA to get them out.

I do have some Figmas, which are pose-able... Haruhi, Makina, Drossel, and a non-figma Yoko Littner ..

    Figmas are fun.
I have six currently, and Drossel's going to be here soon too.
They're especially fun with all the little weaponry. I have Konata currently holding one of Fate's weapons.
I also find Nendos to be fun, though. The cuteness gets to me.

Ndeed, I am hooked on the Figma's...I am thinking of getting a Nagato (I guess I better hurry on that one)

~ and then comes the Nendoroids... I am leaning towards them... but have yet to commit to actually buying one.

    I guess, I haven't seen - - (well I have) I guess... I'm just procrastinating the inevitable.

  18. I have a question about figures that i've been wondering for a while...Why are figures always have flat colors and not a more glossy finish? It seems like it should be all shiny 'n stuff considering thats how they look in the anime.

My Dix-Neuf is pretty shiny, but that might be because he's a robot. Giant robots are always prettier than regular figs, in my opinion. Give me a choice between a Chouginga Gurren Lagann and and a Saber Lily and I'll choose Chouginga every time, until I've got a Chouginga army to fight my Dix-Neuf.

    Thats ~ already a given!

I'm one of the (few) who are extremely devoted to his waifu...

But, reviewing the (actual) presence of my waifu, within the home of Deth? ~ It's a must do...

    How could I not? - o.O
