You mean the first season's director who is no longer involved with Kyoto Animation?
I don't give a flying flip. It's not in his hands any more. His apology shouldn't mean a thing.
By the way, I wish this summer would never end.

I don't care who apologizes, whether it's the past season's director, the creator of Haruhi, or the pope, but if they give me one more Endless Eight episode without progressing in the story, I will just stop watching it.

The person that owes us an apology for teasing us for 3 years and then giving us a shit season is the bonehead directing the series currently. Yamamoto has nothing to do with this, although I appreciate it that somebody is at least pointing out how crap the series has gone.

Concerning the Episodes...
Doesn't matter to me... I am sticking it out to the end and see what the revelation will be.

Since he now has no influence over the direction the series takes there isn't much point in accepting his apology. You accept an apology because of the expectation things will change in the future.
Also maga that avatar fails for not emphasizing her best quality.

This is one of those 'Rare Cases' that is gonna KILL the hype and mar the anticipation for an English Dub. People like us are wadding thru an endless month of useless repetition- can you imagine the ADR and actors going thru the same episode 4 times?
This would've been a cute marketing joke if "Endless 8" was an OVA and not part of an actual second season line-up. Like do the OVA in Feb or April...then start the second season of the end of "Eight"- this May or July that way it's still part of the Haruhi 'Cannon' but it doesn't kill the momentum for the average viewer.
The only good thing to come out of this is that We can warn future fans to skip various episodes and it becomes an example of what NOT to do.

One thing to keep in mind is that even though the same stuff is happening over and over again, a very different visual presentation occurs per episode, and I find it very interesting. For that, I cannot call them lazy (at least the animators and the director). Just take an individual scene and watch it in every episode in sequence; they're all different.
I am considering putting together an excel file comparing all of the endless eight episodes. Not today (don't have time), maybe tomorrow.

I would very much like to see Yuki spring a sprocket and then explode in battery acid which gets all over Haruhi thus dissolving her completely.
