  2. I learned about sliderules when I was 19, until then I had no idea those things had existed before calculators. It blew my mind what primitive animals people were before calculators became a cheap toy

Keep in mind this was designed with a slide rule and a drafting table so maybe it's people today who are primitive animals.

I was thinking about this the other day, it was a cool thing but I'm pretty satisfied with all the cartoon exclusive channels we have nowadays, and apparently there's to be a channel (not sure if tv or online) with nothing but 90s Nick shows, which is cool.

I remember when cartoon network came out, that was the coolest thing in my young life, not only was it a channel with nothing but cartoons, but they were original and often weird cartoons. There was a cartoon channel in Mexico, but as you can expect it was a lot of old loony toons and hannah barbera and other oldies but goodies, and the occasional random anime or newer show, but cartoon network was so cool and different. Space Ghost Coast to Coast was the shit, and I feel fuzzy inside knowing that I watched a ton of pilots in What-A-Cartoon Show, from which many of their shows came.

Lastly, when Adult Swim ran everyday with an all anime line up, save for an ep or two of Family Guy (around 2007/2008?) good times

  9. Downloading things with Napster/Kazaa/DC++. Never Limewire though as it gave you computer AIDS. Also the time when Bittorrent only supported one active torrent.

As our grampas and grammas have seen the invention of washing machines, canned food and TVs, so have we witnessed some interesting development that has become so normal that it has become almost impossible to imagine life otherwise anymore.

What weird, ancient things do you remember?

I understand this feeling, who will know what kind of gadgets we will have in ten years? And I sometimes regret that I didn't study electrical engineering and be one of those who are acitvely creating these kind of things and not only consuming these. I don't even understand the physical concept of flash drives for example. Fucking flash drives how do they work... Anyway I remember free AOL CDs.

    Or the AOL floppies.

People would just erase them and use them for something else.

Because you can't flop them around. You could do that with 5.25" and 8" disks because they had had a soft plastic case.
