Talk about what things that scared/scarred you as a kid

  1. Anyone heard the term Nightmare Fuel? It means that it's basically some sort of image/sound/video/etc that scares you, gives you nightmares, or scars your life, or all of them at once.

This thread is basically for people who would love to get their frightening things out of their chest. Just pretend it's the 'When was the last thing you fapped to' thread, but with scary shit instead of porn.

And no, this means you can't post porn here. Unless it gives you nightmares. Then you can post it.

And please, for those young kiddies wanting to see scary shit, you have been warned. Kinda.

I'll start of by saying that I absolutely was scarred when I saw the transition to the Game Over cutscene (and to a lesser extent, the beginning of the game) in Banjo-Kazooie. It only gotten worse.

Only now, the cutscene is pretty...er, let's say Narmy, since Grunty is a slut now (yet she still laughs like a witch despite that sexy voice) and Monster Tooty is like "RAAGH. RAAGH." Still slighty scary though.

  3. When I was a very small child, I had these dreams, nightmares really...

I would see this "thing" which terrified me. I can remember, in one dream, desperately climbing the rack on the back of my Dad's truck to get away from it. I would force myself awake to end the dreams.

It was smaller than I was. It had a square shaped body, slightly rounded, but no head. It was a glowing orange color. It's arms and legs were stick like. It had two eyes and a mouth (always smiling) that remind me now of the Kool-aid pitcher from commercials. I don't remember it ever moving fast, but it always moved towards me.

This drawing can't convey how it made me feel:

  5. Problem solved.

    -----

I also was afraid of the idents they used at the end of the 1990s-early 2000s era of Sesame Street (since I was born near around the end of said era). It would show some text, followed by a freakishishly zoomed in shot of Big Bird saying something weird (which I discovered was `Toodle-loo' just recently. How fitting...) and showing his fucking wide open mouth, and I thought he would fucking eat me whole, so I would fucking hide before that would appear.

Thankfully, they had a decently fun ident after the year 2001 or something that was replaced by an even happier ident (i.e. the current one with Elmo laughing happily like a jerk). Thankfully they learnt their lesson by the time I was nearly done being a preschooler.

And please don't think i'm under 17. I have consent by my parents to go on this site, and I'm probably turning 18 within less than a year. So....yeah. :/ Sorry if that makes you guys sad about it.

TLDR: I was scarred for life via Big Bird threatening to eat me.

  6. Ah yes i had this nightmare for mostly to my age of 10 because father scared me as a little baby with a really scary devils mask. That nightmare keept waking me up brought me really bad pain in the nightmare eating me most of the time, it stopped as soon as i bet with it that if i find some special item on the toilets in the dream it would stop or i would get cancer that was the bet.So i did find the item and that nightmare actually stopped.

  9. Eureeka's castle used to freak me out as a kid. "Are you afraid of the dark?" still scares me. Especially the episode with the clown... *shivers*

  10. I never had kids shows scare me much as a kid.

Now some stuff in movies scared me as a kid.
Khan from Startrek II and Maximilian from the Black Hole scared me as a kid.

In Starwars Darth Vader was kinda scary when he chocked people to death but the Emperor was just creepy and scary all at once.
    Jabba was just disgusting.

  12. I've played DK64 years ago on an emulator, and I experienced the Game Over cutscene.

It shows King K Rool laughing like a fucking maniac, and we see giant laser about to fuck up everything. This is accompianed with music that goes "BWAAAAM BWAAAAM BWAAAAM BWAAAAAM DUMDUMDUM DUUUUM DUM DUUUUUM DUMDUMDUM, etc". It used to scare me, but now I actually like the music.

  18. When I was three or four years old, I stepped on a cat's tail and it scratched me between two of my toes. It was bleeding bad but I didn't need stitches.

When I was fourteen, I was late out for an errand when a stray dog ran after me. I had to climb my neighbor's truck just to get away from it and waited until it lost interest.

I'm extremely fine with cats but I hate dogs within a close proximity. If I see a dog that fifty meters away, I'll take the long cut just to get where I want to go OR cancel :P
