I hate it when people say they didn't like a movie because of language or nudity or violence, without even bothering to think for a second, and see if the language or nudity of violence is relevant to the story or makes sense to the setting.
I'm rewatching Django Unchained, which prolly is my favorite Tarantino film. I've met so many people that give me shit about it. "Oh I couldn't watch it, I don't condone the use of the N word" or "OMG I can't believe you like that movie, is so violent and the language is so inappropriate!"
It is a Tarantino movie, it is going to be violent. If you go to a Tarantino movie and expect it not to be violent then you're a fucking dumbass. This particular movie involves a bounty hunter, people will fucking die.
As for language, again is a Tarantino movie, there will be bad words. If you go to see an R rated movie, I assume you're over 18, so get over it, in real life people use bad words, dialogs without curse words feel stale and unrealistic, unless the character or the setting calls for a prissy delicate shit with a broom up their ass
As for the use of the N word, this movie is set before the civil war. Nigger/negro/nigga and any other such word were considered adequate, they were every day words. Slave was prolly the equivalent to African-American, that was about the only non-degrading word a black folk would get. So yeah, they use it a lot, because it makes sense for the setting and the story.
Thats like watching a movie about gangs or rappers or inner city or shit like that and expect the characters to not use it either.
What really bothers me is that people who complain about these things usually see themselves as above it, and make it out to "oh you're ignorant/a pervert if you're fine with it" the way I see it, if you can't see past a dirty word, or a pair of tits or a violent scene, then you're the ignorant pervert bitch.
The pervert thing comes out a lot with anime. "oh you like anime, you must be a pervert because all they do is panties and titties" no, that's fan service and am ok with it if the story and animation is good, some series is so good that I dont even notice the tities any more. If you can't see past the tits and notice the story and animation, then you're the fucking pervert.
