Hi everyone! I'm GethN7, and after speaking with the Sankaku staff, I have received permission to tell you all about our site.
I manage the All The Tropes wiki on the Orain wiki farm service. It is a non profit fork of the now censored (and getting worse) TV Tropes wiki, and while we both cover the tropes and writing devices in all types of media and the works that use them, TV Tropes has chosen since April 2012 of last year to bow to the whims of their advertising sponsors and have censored all mention of works they deem controversial to the advertisement sponsors, such as hentai anime, hentai games, adult movies, or anything they feel would anger their ad sponsors interests. They have also heavily censored and edited many works (like hentai games that had work safe adaptations) to only reference material from the work safe adaptations only, and many trope pages referencing material found in adult material have been censored or excised.
The article on this very website is now banned, as a matter of fact.
We feel this has polluted TV Tropes' integrity as a writers resource and since many of our sponsors are writers ourselves and we all value academic freedom, we feel this censorship of certain material does not allow the full discussion of tropes and works necessary for the entertainment and education of how tropes work and how works use those tropes.
On a more personal note, I personally object to the idea that hentai anime, hentai games, adult movies and mature content is general has to be censored to make ad sponsors happy. I and my associates we also greatly disgusted and disappointed at how arbitrarily work pages were cut for "porn" or "pedo-pandering", and we were even more disgusted and how many tropers were treated as degenerates for being fans of things like hentai anime/games, etc.
At All The Tropes, we do not shame anyone for being a fan of a fictional work, whatever it might be, and we feel all tropes and works have merit and are worthy of discussion, and since we are funded purely by donations, we promise not to censor content arbitrarily or turn anyone away for liking certain content.
