What is bitcoin

  1. What do you think about bitcoin?

From a programmer's perspective. This is a brilliant program that has a difficult cryptographic code. This is has created a genius or a large group of experts. But why they do not openly declare themselves?

From the economy's perspective. This is anarchism, just as in ancient times, people traded goods for pieces of gold.

In 2009 the code on an ordinary laptop could get some Bitcoins per day. After a year already used the powerful graphics cards for mininig bitcoins.

Now it does not make sense to use a regular computer to do this. Because cryptographic code of mining is complicated by the day.

Simply buy on the stock exchange. And then the intresting things begin. In 2009, some man bought a pizza for a few tens of Bitcoins (BTC). In those days 1 Bitcoin (BTC) cost less than a dollar.

    And today 1 BTC = 175$

I think the money created by a mafia or FBI (or like that) for creating their own currency that is not controlled by anyone.

But while ordinary people can play the market. Especially chart looks very tasty.

  2. I thought this was one of those new threads created by bots, and I was already ready to say "penis", but... :(

Now that I looked and read the whole thing, I still don't understand anything except for the fact that you can buy pizza.

    Sorry.

  3. I wrote from the point of view that people already know something about Bitcoin If you do not know anything about it, then Google to help.

Not only pizza. On the stock exchanges is already possible to change the BTC / USD, USD / BTC.

There are online stores which accept Bitcoins. And also it is convenient to use in the underground economy. Because transfers can not be traced and it anonymously

Now If I turn my computer with 580GTX then I need 24 hours for mining 0,03$. That's crazy to do at home.

I had to do mining in 2009-2010, but those days I did not know about this project. Now ordinary ppl can only try to trade on the stock exchange.

And who knows, maybe some professors and scientists who make supercomputers at research centers and universities, they use them for mining for our taxes.

  13. Bitcoin is the world's new favourite way to buy drugs. I don't know about pizza, but I've heard to people selling grilled cheese sandwiches on the Silk Road.

But it's not really a market that you can "play", because it's hard to buy large enough quantities for true forex, and it's completely fucked for the future because the limited monetary supply (once a certain number of bitcoins is mined, that's it; they won't make any more) means that deflation and hoarding is inevitable. A large proportion of bitcoins are just sitting in wallets waiting for the value to rise.

Assuming 500 watt consumption for the PC and power at 7 cents per kwh 24 hours of mining would come to 84 cents.
Running the computer for an entire month would only cost $25.20.

  15. Eventually people will get bored with the idea of bitcoin and their value will drop like a rock to nothing again. It's a currency about nothing.

Probably one of the more accurate predictions you've made.

    Absurd and hopefully trolling.

It's a currency that will have high demand as long as people want to buy things under the radar. Which is forever.

They just need some way of increasing the money supply. Unfortunately, if they announced that they were going to raise the all-time limit, the value would crash.

Most likely, some new virtual currency will have to be made that won't make the same mistakes.

7 cents per kwh? hmm it's very cheap for Europe, I think.
