Even the extremely easy low skilled jobs?
Minimum wage is pointless anyway: it's not like illegals can't get paid less under the table.

I'm talking about natural citizens too.

People should get paid a living wage regardless of what they do. Crying about minimum wage increases is amazingly petty.
Agreed you simply cannot live on minimum wage.
It should be noted the minimum wage in 1956 was $1 doesn't sound like much but corrected for inflation that's about $8.60 in today's money.

That's what unpaid internships are for, though there are people who are trying to make those illegal.

This is why we can't have nice things. Do they want to destroy this economy?

I think those need to be done away with as well.
They should at least get minimum wage or a good chunk of it or weekly hours limited to no more then 16 more then that you have to pay them.
Also there needs to be limits for the maximum number of hours a company can require someone to to work in a week.
I suggest a max of 48 hours mandatory but anyone is free work work more then that if they wish to do so.
But the key word here is it must be 100% voluntary.
Money is an illusion.

So how does everyone who lives in states with lower minimum wage make do? Look at the bigger picture of how raising the minimum wage affect jobs and prices.
And prices will rise. When employees who make $9 and $10 now demand raises because they are higher up than those who make minimum wage and now are making the same, employers WILL raise prices.
So forgive me if I'm petty because my working dollar is worth less and I received no pay raise because I don't earn minimum wage.

And you're not expected to. Minimum wage jobs are entry level. You're supposed to move up, learn skills, and earn a higher wage.

Or trading trades.

The minimum wage has a much greater effect on the price of labor, and thus unemployment levels, than the price of consumer goods. One thing that does have a huge effect on the latter though is high levels of unionization.

Unpaid internships are a rite of passage into many white-collar professions. It's ironic that many of those who go down such paths are the ones most supportive of economic policies such as the minimum wage. These are also people who've never worked minimum wage jobs such as stocking shelves, flipping burgers, or cleaning toilets.

"It's back to basics for me," Bernard Polk of Waverly, OH said. "I'm going to till the soil for my own sustenance and get anything else I need by bartering. If I want milk, I'll pay for it in tomatoes. If need a new hoe, I'll pay for it in lettuce."
This person is on the right track, but he should just make his own tools.

This logic only works for teenagers who still live with their parents.
But what about someone who has no choice to take a shit job?
Oh and I'd like to to add a few more things to my proposed labor reforms.
Mandatory ten days minimum sick days and holidays.
Double time for any work past 12 hours in a day.
I consider the labor reform even more important then raising minimum wage.
I consider no labor law at all.

A rite of passage that's the biggest load of bull I've ever heard.
Unpaid internships are a reenforced ballistic polycarbonate ceiling to those without wealthy parents to pay for their living expenses while they work as a slave.
In short it's another barrier to upwards class mobility.
This is why I propose limiting unpaid internships to 16 hours a week.

Then get two shit jobs. But you know why shit jobs exist in the first place? Because people (or illegals) will settle for them. Why work at McDonald's for $8 when you can work at In-N-Out for $10.50?
There aren't enough positions for everyone, you say? Then work at McD's for a while, gain some experience, and if you haven't worked good enough to advance to shift manager, go apply to INO with your better resume.
