Wildwood, New Jersey, set to ban low-slung trousershttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22876667
A beach town in the US state of New Jersey is passing a ban on the wearing of low-slung trousers, jeans or shorts on its boardwalk.
The sight of exposed skin or underwear has attracted complaints from tourists, says Wildwood Mayor Ernest Troiano.
He is introducing a dress code prohibiting trousers that hang more than 3in (7.6cm) below the hips.
Wildwood joins a handful of other small US communities that have acted against wearing low-slung trousers.
Under its plan, people would also be required to wear shoes and shirts on the boardwalk.
Mayor Troiano said: "When you have good families who call you up and say, 'I've been coming here 20 years, 30 years, 40 years and I'm not going to any longer because I'm not going to subject my children or my parents or grandparents to seeing some kid walk down the boardwalk with their butt hanging out,' you have to do something."
Anyone who breaks the rules would be fined $25-$100 (£16-£64) the first time, and $200 for a repeat offence, or might have to complete 40 hours of community service.
Swimming costumes are already banned on Wildwood's boardwalk.
The fashion trend is believed to have originated in US prisons, where inmates are not allowed to wear belts.
But the look was taken up by hip-hop artists and is commonly worn by young people.
But will they ban tank tops, fake tan and hair gel?

PINK EYE SPREAD AMONG JAPANESE TEENAGERS DUE TO SEX FETISH
http://www.tokyotimes.com/2013/pink-eye-spread-among-japanese-teenagers-due-to-sex-fetish/
Japanese teenagers are confronted with an epidemic of pink eye due to the spread of an unusual form of sexual arousal: eyeballs licking.
The trend gained attention only after it led to the highly contagious eye condition that is usually transmitted through bacterias. Pink eye’s symptoms include redness, swelling, and itching of the eye.
The condition started to draw the authorities’ attention after children to show up at school wearing eye patches on, the international press reports. In the beginning, teachers thought it is just a fashion trend, but soon it turned out that the eye patches were concealing pink eye, contracted by the teenagers after licking each other’s eyeballs.
One-third of elementary school students in one classroom either confessed to eyeball-licking, or having their own eyeballs licked, a sexual fetish known as „oculolinctus”.
„After class one day, I went into the equipment store in the gymnasium to tidy up. The door had been left open, and when I looked inside, a male pupil and a female pupil had their faces close together and were kind of fumbling around. Could it be bullying? I wondered, but when I had a good look, the boy was licking the girl’s eye! Surprised, a shouted “What are you doing? Stop it at once!” and the two of them were so shocked they jumped apart. The girl burst into tears, and the boy just went bright red and was shaken up. At any rate, to try to calm them down I took them to the janitor’s room and listened to their story,” a middle school teacher said.
On questioning, the two teenagers said that eyeball licking is usually what comes next after French kissing.

I read about someone called Linda Hazzard who thought of something similar back in the early 20th century in using fasting to cure disease.
She eventually tried it on herself and died. This woman will probably meet the same fate.

There was once a fat Scottish dude who survived for a year without eating.

Miraculously, his slow metabolism and thyroid problems were cured

Mostly likely he did consume something with some nutrition and calories during that time or he would have died.

He may have had some vitamin pills
This dude was very fat and his fat stores were easily enough for someone to live off for a year

I've heard that certain monks can do this for extended periods of time, however they must remain in strict state of meditation. It seems that they can survive but I doubt they can do much else.

I find the claim he ate nothing at all during that time very dubious because lack of vitamin C and protein would still kill you even if you still had energy reserves.
Then there's the issues the central nervous system needs glucose to run though it can partly run on ketones from the liver.Though if he consumed juice during that time this would solve two of the biggest problems no glucose and no vitamin C.
There still would be the protein deficiency issue. In a medical sense this still would be considered fasting.

That one only cover one of the three issues I pointed out.
Well unless said pills includes protein pills which would fix the other two.
Doesn't need to be much as little as 40 to 56 grams a day would keep him alive.Posted 2 years ago # -

I have no idea how he solves the protein problem, but he lived. No-one said he was healthy afterwards.
