Back to something related to the thread the Gamecube and Wii were the most reliable 6th and 7th generations consoles.
The WiiU likely will continue this trend as it seems to be a comparatively simple system.

That's because after the N64 Nintendo never led in pushing hardware specs.
On a slightly different note, it will be rather interesting to see how the PS$ err 4 and 720 pan out sales wise vs the 3/360.
I am not holding out much hope for the console market this generation.

The Game Cube still had a higher speced CPU then the PlayStation 2's but not choosing to use DVD media was kinda brain dead on their part.
But the Xbox 1 was probably over all the most powerful 6th general console.
Though both the GC and Xbox were released 2 years after the PS2.
It seems with the Wii they decided to go more with trying out new ways of game play vs the highest possible specs.
