i propose we stimulate conversation by going into details and experiences
im so tired that at 7pm i was tired enough to fall asleep instantly on a non insomnia day and now my fogginess in my head is worse and im kinda stumbling when i go do stuff like pee

i think i have restless leg syndrome but without it i would still have insomnia idk what its called when your brain wont stop thinking when you try to sleep

    Trazodone
    Lunesta
    Ambien
    Sonata
Belsomra (hope your parents are riched lmao)
    Quetiapine
    Olanzapine
    Clozapine
    Any benzodiazepine
    Paroxetine
    Doxepin
    Buspirone

The GABA receptors are the limit

Doesn't have effect on the GABAA receptors. Pretty nice tho as it is quite strong and not addictive.
It's also an antidepressant and an anxiolytic. It's notable because it can be used as a sedative(along with nefazodoneí and niaprazine).

Z drugs and benzos are the only GABAergics on this list. Be careful! They are very addictive.

Orexin antagonist. Well tolerated and AFAIK not addictive.

Using atypical antipsychotics for the long term treatment of insomnia is a very dangerous and American thing.

    and finally the antidepressants/anxiolytics.

wtf is paroxetine doing there? It's an SSRI. Nothing to do with insomnia.

Doxepin is a tricyclic with strong antihistamine and moderate anticholinergic activity. Only effective in mild cases of insomnia.

Buspirone is a "mild version" of trazodone. It's not nearly as effective as tarzodone though.

    /nitpicky explanation

  12. By GABA receptors, I was just trying to be clever

More details tomorrow as I ironically try to go to bed at 5 AM

Paroxetine is the more sedating of the SSRIs btw

I was just picking some nit.

It's more sedating, but not really a sedative. It can give you the good ol' somnolence+insomnia combo, which is one of the worse things that can happen to you.

  19. I can usually get a fair amount of sleep.

It's just 5 hours later than I'd like it to be and requires low doses of drugs.

But when it's bad, it's rly bad.
