A Discussion on Gun Control

  1. I hear from many pro-gun control people that Japan has a low gun homicide with it's ban on guns. I however, look into account Japan's cultural norms and those those talk about Japan's rate in non-gun related homicide.

  2. In all honesty, gun should be control and outlaw
Sure it depend on the person, mental state, bla bla bla
And yes other country with no gun has high crime on other part etc

But, gun kill faster than anything, a guy with knife will not be able to massacre so many people in such a short period of time. Gun make everything easy and make other people totally defenseless. Worst of all it can be use by anyone and still be deadly...kids with gun are more dangerous than kids with knife.

My friend brought up the Chinese man who stabbed 22 children on the same day, yet none of them died. I'm sure it's more complicated than "it's guns," as he believes, but it's interesting to note.

Chinese are lucky. Medical technology has advanced so much in emergency situations in the past 20 years that you're much more likely to bleed to death from a stabbing than a gunshot wound (which will usually close itself up).

  4. As a person that lives in a area with wild dogs and meth attics I really don't wont my only reliable defense to be illegal.

Also a few years ago someone set my house on fire. They are still out there somewhere.

I wonder how many of Japan's suicides are actually misclassified homicides.
This incident does not look like a typical suicide and instead looks like a very sloppy murder by the Yakuza or some other crime syndicate.

It pretty much was sheer luck no one died in that incident.
He probably missed hitting any vital organs by sheer luck.
Several people died in the Akihabara massacre despite having access to much better medical care.

  8. China doesn't count, due to them failing so hard at everything.

If that incident had happened in the US, all of those children would have been stabbed to death.

He probably just stabbed them in the back as they ran away vs going for the throat and heart like the Japanese guy.
The difference in survival rates on where you get stab are very large much like on where a bullet hits you.
They probably also counted minor cuts as getting stabbed.

Same here I better save up for the M1 garnad I want.
I'm trying to collect all the major fire arms of WWII.

I wish crazies would stop giving the gun control people ammunition for their cause and the media report the hundreds of times a day an assault or rape is prevented by gun ownership.

Incidents of successful defensive gun use are covered only in local media. No one cares about a crime that is prevented, that isn't news that generates advertising revenue.

  18. So the only reason no one talks about good news is because it doesn't generate enough revenue? I always thought everyone was just a bunch of cynics. Guess I'm wrong.
