   In case anyone missed it Chris Roberts (Wing Commander) is coming out with a MMOSS (Space Sim).

   The kickstarter is over and they managed to raise $6,224,543 dollars for it.

   Dunno if anyone remembers WC and Privateer but this might just float your boat.

   I fuckin' LOVED wing commander! hopefully this'll be cool, but 6 mil for an mmo? that sounds AWFULLY low.

   Why would he need to use Kickstarter? Did he lose everything on the movie?

   Just the kickstarter. I suspect Chris has money to toss at it and there will likely be some external funding as thing progress.

   Mainly to avoid publisher interference according to Chris' statement.
