Leaning towards either a 1911 or a Sig P220, though I haven't ruled out other .45s.

I would love to have an authentic Nihonto but I would be to scared to ever use it on anything because they are such works of art.
I would rather use a cheaper handmade Chinese katana for defense and practice cuts. Hanwei swords kick ass.
Even United Cutlery blades are decent for budget blades.

I have frying pans and a GAX70 electric guitar. These count as melee weapons, yes?

The 1911 is a nice gun and very easy to break down and clean.
I don't have any personal experience with the Sig P220 but I've heard good things about it.

I'm not looking at getting one right now, that's for after I get another pistol.
I don't know a lot about weapons and guns, but I'd love to own a katana and if I ever go back to the Isle of Wight I'd love to buy the replica medieval broad swords they were selling there.
I'd also like to own a proper old-school revolver.
