Anime Suggestions!

  1. Hello there guys!

I've been watching a reasonable amount of anime since, well, about four to five years ago, and I'm starting to run out of ideas.

I started off on the mainstream anime, such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, Noir and Naruto, then going onto bBeach, but recently ive grown tired of both Bleach and Naruto's long, DB-esque plotline. Don't get me wrong, i still watch them, and enjoy the odd surpise when they throw it in. But it's just not doing it for me anymore.

This is going to be a relatively long post, so please bare with me!

I've come to ask for some suggestions into the anime i should begin watching. I've seen allsorts. From Lodoss War, to Wolf's rain. Toradora! to Mushi-shi. Gai-Rei, Minami-ke, Love Hina and Lucky star. Code Geass and many more.

What I'm trying to say is, the genre doesn't bother me in particular. I enjoy an anime with an interesting plotline and charracters that make you want to get involved. So any suggestions of an anime that has really made you watch one episode after another, would be most welcome for suggestions. Old or new, ongoing or finished. Long or short, it really doesn't matter!

    Thanks guys and gals,

    Fox-Baka

  2. If you enjoyed Naruto and Bleach, then I'd recommend One Piece. It's in a league of it's own compared to those two. Number one Manga of last year and number one most "interesting" manga, too. The anime version is very true to the manga, so it wouldn't matter which you chose.

  4. Well it depends on what really interests you. If you enjoy comedy then Azumanga Daioh is worth watching as well as Excel Saga. If you enjoy action/mecha then I suggest Mobile Suit Gundam, preferably the original 3 movies. In terms of good animation and compelling story I would suggest Death Note. A cool ninja anime – 2x2 Shinobuden. Failing all that, or if you have already watched them all then I suggest a couple of nice wee animes, Midori no Hibi or Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.

  6. go to my animelist.net and rate and mark down your animes list. here is mine.

Your taste seems very Shounen and I think you'd like something that you can finish in one season. For Bleach and Naruto fans Samurai Champloo is the best feudal anime of all time no contest. For Death note fans I recommend Gankutsuo. Note about me I REALLY hate deathnote and code gayass. Bad animation, bad plot, badly pandering to teenagers who wish they had more control over their life. Oh and he recommended 2x2 shinobuden yes it is as kiddy as one piece but it is freaking HILARIOUS you'll laugh your ass off!

As for classics that you must see before you can call yourself an anime fan. Trigun and Cowboy bebop are widely considered the two best animes of all time despite being less then 10 years old.

  7. O.P. has prob. seen all already but just in case not; I recommend: Iriya no Sora Ufo no Natsu, Eureka Seven, Genshiken, Eve no Jikan, Excel Saga, Puni Puni Poemy, Spice & Wolf, Welcome to the NHK, Mahoromatic, Ergo Proxy, TOKKO,, Shingetsutan Tsukuhime, Video Girl AI, Goshuusou-sama Nimomiya-kun,

(Disclaimer: Some of the above are more entertaining than epic)
