   Big deal. It will change nothing to us but certainly more japanese for otakus since they don't have fairly uses law.
   Since now the japanese police can prosecute without a complaint by the victim, the production, selling and buying doujin are now an suicide....

   but let's take it in side and talk something more important than that.

   This ceirtanly will cause an flood of 2channelers and nicovideo guys to get out of japanese server and came to here, 4chan and reddit, since they are out of japan, ACTA will not be applied. (As I remember Japan is the only country what made ACTA valid.)

   Will we be prepared for this?

   It will suck to see nicovideo die but the users probably will move to Metacafe,Youtube, and Dialymotion.
   I wonder if we'll finally see some demonstrations in Japan since ACTA is dead in the EU and dying in the US.

   They really need to stand up for themselves as this evil thing is on the ropes.
   If they fought back they could make ACTA die.

   Well, The process to get out of acta is quite simple but if you get out of it is probably they will lose international trust since losing the trust is what happens when get out of the International Agreement...usually.

   They'd loose nothing at all by backing out since the trade agreement is universally hated by everyone outside the media companies and by all human rights groups.
   Since the EU has rejected ACTA the agreement has lost all it's credentials.
   If anything Japan would gain trust in the international community by rejecting an agreement that violates many individual freedoms and liberties.
   They'd be seen as progressive and that's far more important then being seen in a good light by greedy conglomerates.

   Personally I think everyone behind ACTA should be dragged into the street and shot.
   My only suggestion is that the first shot should not be a fatal one.
   Aim for a knee cap or foot and let them try and get away before the killing shot.

    I'm thinking more on the lines of "National Socialist Republic of Japan".

    Then again, Japan is pretty much a quasi-anarchistic state as nobody enforces what seems like at least half of its laws.

    I expect the police will make a few high level busts under ACTA where they'll try to make an example of some people then there will be outrage though probably nothing on the level seen in the US and EU.
    Then after that the law will probably go largely unenforced.
    Though if they try to arrest foreigners there may be an international shit storm and they'll drop ACTA to save face.

    It all depends because Nintendo has a record of creating lawsuits on people and companies over copyright infringements.Just imagine if they try to sue Activison Blizzard Japan for making a Battle Pet game for World of Warcraft online,and if it looks too similar to Pokémon they would file a lawsuit just because they have the money to do so.
