    True, the 'twin towers' led the Spurs to two championships together. However, there are two reasons that I didn't include these two: first of all, there was quite a large difference in age between the two of them, so although they did function as a duo, one could argue that Duncan learned a lot of his defence from Robinson. Also, this is supposed to be about 'old school' NBA duos, and Duncan is still playing! He may have a few good years left as well, even though he is 36. I have a lot of respect for those Spurs teams that really took it to the Lakers, even if I'm not a fan of the Spurs.
