It's going to be better than Spring season, I'm sure.
I'm looking forward to Tari Tari and Rinne no Lagrange 2, but there are plenty more I'd like to try out.

  4. HORIZON 2!! Campone is based of a novel which I want to read and Dakara is based off a manga I'm currently reading, I hope they just don't fuck it up.

  5. I have to admit, the pickings look rather slim to me. There seems to be quite a few things that are either SoLs, RomComs or are in both categories. Though really that's not the main problem, it's that a lot of their premises do not seem very interesting, and there seems to be a lack of my preferred names (either studios, seiyuu or directors) are not making an appearance. There also seems to be the odd fantasy/sci fi title about, which are really not grabbing me either.

Besides sequels (Horizon, YuruYuri and most of all Lagrange, a definite fuck yes to all of them), and carry-overs from the Spring (Hyouka and Accel World), I only have a list of 5 actually new shows that I am (mostly) steadfast in watching. And they are:

Sword Art Online: The premise really looks interesting to me, and A-1 is one of my favorite studios. Basically a no-brainer for me.

Joshiraku: The fact it's being made by J.C. Staff worries me, but since it's an adaption of something by Kumeta Kouji, I will most likely find it enjoyable.

TariTari: It seems like you can make something of that premise, and since it's PA Works, at least it will look nice. Also it's an original, and I want to give original series a chance (I just hope this doesn't turn out the same way Hanasaku Iroha did...)

Kokoro Connect: It's being made by Shin Oonuma and Silver Link, so I have to at least give it a try. Also the premise looks like it can give me a few laughs.

Campione!: I'm giving this a try for one reason and one reason alone, the girl in the promo image has a Rapier. Rapiers are awesome. Nuff said. (okay, and the premise sounds nice if done well).

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita intrigues me, and I might watch Blood Lad if I can find out more info on it, but I think I might take this time to watch some things I missed from spring (i.e. Sankarea) instead of making a watch list that is too huge.

That show had so much promise in the first episode. Shame they fucked it up so bad.

  7. Badly. I don't remember it that way, though. I think I'll watch it again.

I was thinking, that maybe a singular thread that details the anime seasons - (each time) - would be advisable. -

This way it would be easier to keep returning to it verses a new thread each time for each season.

So, please continue with ALL listings here, this way all will have an opportunity to find it quicker.

Although it might be abit early, HERE is the anime list for Autumn/Fall 2012 which include Series, OVAs, Movies etc. Its still 2 months away untill the next season so some title might still have a chance of being taken out.

  16. Well the Summer 2012 season is as good as over, with Horizon 2 being the only single Cour Anime of this season that I have not yet finished. Other than that I have the 2 carry-overs of Kokoro Connect which is my favorite of Summer no contest, and SAO which although interesting, took a very long time to get interesting. Also I don't see what makes SAO SO much better than Accel World, as the only thing SAO absolutely has over Accel (to me anyway) is a better male lead. Otherwise I feel they are fairly even, with their various points over one another being highly arguable to me, but that is separate from the issue at hand.

The pickings of Fall 2012 seem pretty varied, a difference already from Summer, however whether that is automatically better or not is yet to be seen as the Anime of this Summer did surprise me for the better. Needless to say, what I have decided to watch based on completely frivolous and shallow reasons is!...

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun: True it sounds like just a RomCom, but I usually find RomComs with mundane settings to always be enjoyable to some degree. Also, it's Brains Base. For some reason I don't watch a lot of their stuff, even though I really like Baccano and love Durarara. I really want to get into more of their stuff, so here's another chance for me.

Jormungand Perfect Order: Simple reason. It's a sequel to something I really enjoyed. Next.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai: I think everyone has noticed this one by now. As for me, well KyoAni is behind it so it's pretty much a fact that it will look good. Also I find the premise itself to be very interesting and ripe for some good jokes. To me at least it looks like a damn good show with a lot of promise.

Onii-chan Dakeko Ai Sae Areba Kankei nai yo ne: Yet another in the series of recent Anime with long ass names. True the premise does not look particularly remarkable, but its by Silver Link. For the most part I generally like what I see from them, so I'm willing to give this a chance. And usually when it comes to Silver Link, I am not disappointed.

Little Busters: The one thing that has probably generated the most discussion already and is the one anime people have been waiting for, the Little Busters adaption. To get this out of the way, yes the fact that it's being done by J.C. Staff does concern me and I do wish that it was KyoAni (or even PA Works) doing it instead of them. However I am still going to give it the benefit of the doubt. It's not that J.C is incapable of producing good work, it's that the quality of their work is incredibly variable. You never know if you're gonna get the next Railgun or the next Hidan no Aria with them. They also tend to make multiple works at the same time within a single season, so favorites inevitably surface and further exacerbate the former problem. Add to that the fact that J.C rarely if ever adapts VNs, and you have yourself some genuine cause for concern. But we have not even seem the show yet, and to say that it's dead in the water just because of J.C is a poor attitude to take in my opinion and I will never agree with that Endless Eight style of logic. J.C is capable of good work, and even the studio I thought of as just shy of being a Leper (Xebec) had me thoroughly enjoying Lagrange. I always wanted to give the series a try if the Anime ever came out, and I am still going to do so. I just hope that Little Busters is J.C on a "good" day.

Magi: One of 3 shows premiering this season by A-1 Pictures. Add on SAO and that's 4 shows running in a season. Quite a lot for A-1. Anyway the whole 1001 Arabian Nights thing seems pretty interesting, and I do like A-1, so this was a pretty easy decision for me. Is is wrong of me to say that I'm hoping to see a moefied version of Scheherazade?

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo: Another J.C. Staff Anime, with what should be a warning label of Mari Okada being this show's writer. But here I am, interested in the show regardless. Thankfully this is an adaption, so Okada cannot run rampant like she did in Hanasaku Iroha and BRS TV. I suppose it's the art style, but I'll give the show it's fair chance.

Girls und Panzer: There's really not much to say about this. I'm picking this up for it's weird ass premise alone, like I did with Ben-To and Upotte. I will most likely enjoy it in some way, shape or form.

Robotics;Notes: Another adaptation of a 5pb VN, with this one having an Anime adaption almost immediately after release. I heard it was designed with an Anime/Multimedia in mind. Never the less I am very interested in this, as I love Steins;Gate to death and the premise itself seems very interesting. Not to mention it is a noitaminA series by Production I.G, so at least it will look good.

I might also take a look at Shin Sekai Yori, as it is also by A-1. However the whole description of a false Utopia and a crumbling world sound too similar to Fractale for comfort, a show which was a bombshell of disappointment to me. I may like the studio but the premise does not really attract me, so I'm not sure.

Other than that this is pretty much my list. I may add on other things but these things (except Shin Sekai Yori) I am more or less sold on. What is everyone else planning to watch?

    AW>>>>>>>>>SAO

SAO has no plot progress, and no villan. Fights are short and consist of spamming attacks and switching. Only Kirito's duel with the Crimson Knight leader was somewhat interesting, but only because of that (cheating) technique he used to win. (Was he Brain Bursting?)

AW has a far more original setting, with various avatars, fighting styles, and special techniques. Fights require strategy; even Haru couldn't rely on only flying to keep him safe. Haru and Taku's fight was bro-tier awesome, along with their first battle royal against Nomi.

Nomi. He was done so right. A blackmailing worm that you could hate and even understand his reasoning for being evil while still hating him. Watching him cry for mercy, crawling, writhing, was so satisfying.

And there's a rumor going round that one of this season's shows will be getting 4 cours, here's hoping its Accel World.

I guess the spam attack thing is a form of realism in a way. It is still an MMO, so once you find the most broken combination of weapons, armor and skills you can throw out strategy for the most part, lol. I do like SAO's sword fights but I will admit that fights in AW are far more varied. Even if you were to take away the whole fact that you are trapped once you log in, the Accel World seems like a far more interesting game.

Oh yes, Nomi. I personally did not find him sympathetic in the slightest, as he was far to much of an asshole for that. I did however find his downfall in ep.25 to be so deliciously satisfying that I had to watch it multiple times, hehehe....

Honestly I wouldn't mind Accel World getting another season. Both SAO and AW in my opinion share a similar problem of taking a while to really get good, but AW eventually became genuinely interesting. SAO I find interesting really only because of Kirito and Asuna. I really wouldn't mind watching more of it as it stands.
