I want to like AKB48, I really do. Japanese women, for me, walk a fine line on being really cute, to being insanely annoying with how they use their mannerisms. Unfortunately I just don't 'get' this idol group. Why for the love of all things holy do you need 48 members? All with matching outfits and same colored hair?? wtf. It's safe to say I won't like the anime either.
Besides, Perfume is much more talented. They deserve their own anime. It would probably be a lot more stylish as well.

Lol me myself I dont know shit about AKB48, for me as long as the anime is nice everything goes, Im in no way interested in AKB48 Im watching it as a anime, without really bothering about where it is base from, but well pretty obvious its about AKB48 but lol, doesn matter since I like Idolmaster I gave this a try and I like it too. Thats all.

Same.
I usually dislike idols, because they try so hard to be cute and moe that it gets to the point that it's painfully unnatural. Not saying there aren't a few idols that I like, but most of them just get on my nerves.

Yes, that's it. It seems so unnatural and it ruins it.
I kinda want to try this anime out. I might watch a few episodes near the end of this season.

The idea of "fun/entertainment" being outlawed is up there with the line "I'll protect everyone's smiles" in cheddar-filled cliches.
Except "I'll protect everyone's smiles" is awesome.

Im watching it, I suppose Deth is watching it also. Yeh so far the Song and Mecha kinda fit in very nicely, btw if Im not wrong only 9 of AKB member is doing the voice, the rest are veteran VA, I recognise Yui Horie, Yukari Tamura, Noto Mamiko, well basically the one AKB are doing voice for are the new girls thats gonna replace the older generation.
The voices of the idols proper did sound very familiar to me. But I suppose it does make sense for the new generation of girls to be voiced by the AKB48 proper (or at least some of them anyway).
I also didn't watch this because of an interest in the real AKB48, of which I have none. I decided to watch it based on the absurd description it was given on the Moetron lists. The last time I watched something because it's description was so stupid it sounded awesome was Ben-To, and I was not disappointed with that decision.
Though I'm noticing this is the second Idol Anime I've really liked so far (the other being iDOLM@STER of course). Maybe I do like idols more than I'm willing to admit, even to my self....
You do have that Chisame avatar, after all.

Thats a NET IDOL XD.
I honestly don't know what this thread is about because I didn't read first page, but I really don't like their music or how their management seems to treat them....but that bitch Yuko is cute as hell.

I'm sorry but your avatar is mere-ly giving the standard "zombie" stare. jus liek a mannequin in a store window.
I don't want to hear that from a cubist goat.

I don't quite understand HIS NEED for such, its always the same... ¬_¬
Anyway ~
I have put off watching this for a bit, as I have been busy, however, to be fair and by personal policy, I shall give the show (at least) 4 episodes before deciding if its worth to continue watching...
MARATHONING NOW!
(EDIT):
After watching it, I will say that I like it.
Its the usual blend of - "Friends" - needing a dream, believing in that dream, are inspired, and then go to achieve that dream despite knowing the difficulties.
The military/police background/sub-plot is (I guess) to be a mild metaphor for what is going on now in terms of censorship and they way to combat it.
I did not look at this animu from the (actual Group) that its based off of... that is a first known fact already - however - I was very pleased by the way they added it as a back-story, this peeked my interest and that was good to see that they didn't depend on it.
However, (a little history) ~
The american versions did try the same concept with their cartoony version that aired in the 70's and 80's... the names of those shows escape me at the moment, I can think of - "Josie and the Pussycats" - and maybe - "Barbie" - I am not sure... where the singers were heroines, had canned laughter tracks, and had sappy sugary episodes. (then again that was another time/generation)
Hopefully, it will not be another GI-Joe type (which I gather won't be) where they're engaged in battle and don't die or get hurt.
The animation is great and the movement of the characters standard yet with full of life.
I like the small touches that are employed into it, like the heart motif that is seen on the characters, which is subtle and also visible as an example.
Hopefully ~ they (the creators) will continue with the standard and not stray off its course.

ft4u ^_^
The majority of posts by the OP are posts on the main page.
The OP doesn't lurk in the forum that often. If he did he would of exercised a little more thought into the creation of this thread if it warranted it, by looking into the existing threads and observing how the regulars behave.
If he's behaving like a typical Anon, then that is an acceptable excuse.
I would rather have the OP participate more in the forum threads than just lurking. I welcome his input - MORE INPUT!
If he only posts on the front, this isn't going to change. He should post more on the forum and get involved in other discussions. Even read some of the closed threads to get an "appreciation" of why they were closed.
But....
I saw the initial eps, and they weren't that interesting, as I am busy with other things.
As a stand alone on its own merits title, you have to remember its practically brand new.
The style of their animation just looks too painfully generic along with the standard gags. Does not leave an impressive impression.
I'd rather check out the 3D girls than the 2D ones in this case.
Its also really weak on PLOT, not that that needs to be mentioned.
It would of just been better to discuss this in the Last Animu You Saw Thread,... Since it is basically just another niche title, than have a seperate thread dedicated to it.
Its been about a year & so, of discouraging wildcat threads.
Sylphin are you so bored that you rather recind that policy?
If you just don't care ~ Then let the anything goes without a second thought threads start again - just liek the old days when anarchy ruled SanCom.
Before there were moderators, before the dark tiems, before the Empire.

How can one as old as yourself, be swayed by the progression of Sankaku, that has no bearing what-so-ever in this topic actually.
Sorry to disappoint you, but Sankaku will never reverse itself (just because) you or handful of others want it and wish that it was that way again.
Your like old men, sitting on the porch complaining, never adapting, hence you'll die a quicker, and will in trying to making an effort to bring back the old times once more.
But, to continue with the topic....
You stated that you hated the anime, well that (like all things) depends on the pov of the viewer, as not all things will be appreciated with what they watch.
I think many should have a more open mind while they watch anime, and see it beyond what its usually seen for. - like the fan-service, loli, oppai, sexual innuendo and watch it for something else.
But, I digress, as its the usual formulation of the restlessness of the age group, that make those points more important to them.
I am surprised that your so biased.
I guess after watching anime all these years, has made me indifferent to all that already (because) it was a - "common thing" - to see during the - "golden age" - that it doesn't sway me in the least, as - "its just an another added camera angle"
I've seen allot worse in the past, as I am sure you have also, learn to see beyond what is shown (for once)...

Actually there are a few titles I would like to see in their entirety in the new season, but I'm waiting for them to all be completed. *Busy with other thing priorities in the real world.
The cinematography in a couple looks impressive and promising. No need to mention the titles to make the point.
I don't hate the thing, it just is blah.
And no I am not one of those stuck in a rut old lurkers who want the old Sankaku back.
I like the new Sankaku, with a little less anarchy. & less shit storms and such.
Please,... relax old man. I do like looking at something new, with the hope that it will be unique in some way. Just not rehashing old memes badly, coz thats what kills a potentially good title. Or bad drawing or even portraying some theme sloppily.
Case in point: Appleseed XIII
Which is gawd awful.

It maybe rehashing on a meme, but, its still worth a watch because its working well
and yes, I concede, that - "Appleseed XIII" - did not live up to its original, which is a damned shame, as it had so much potential.
I (actually) had my doubts about this anime AKB0048 - in truth - as I thought it would depend too much on the actual group that is all the rage now.
Like the Barbie zealots that make her to be the perfect IDOL in all sense of the word.
If Shirow~sama were ded, he'd be turning in his grave - but, its probably just giving him annoying head aches and even more reason to not be a public figure.
. . . . And keep on making awsome porn. Which are excellent studies in human anatomy for aspiring artists.
