Have you ever saved someone from death?

  1. I saved a man from burning, he was passed out, when I walked in the room I saw him, he was about to fall off his couch, there was a mini stove on the floor, he fell on top of it, I rushed to him pulled him away, I checked him he burned a little bit but he was okay, the next day I went to his house he asked me what happened to him, I said you almost got burned on your stove. He thanked me. The reason I was there I went to borrow sugar from him. If I didn't go there he wouldn't be alive right now.

    ^This (not going into details).
Though, I don't know if you could say I saved this person or if they would have died if I didn't call 911 for them, but things would have been very bad if I wasn't there to do that.

  4. No, but I have been saved before. I was swimming in the ocean and I got swept out by a big wave. I passed out from lack of oxygen and the next thing I remember is laying on the beach after the lifeguard performed CPR.

  5. I called the ambulance on a friend who had a severe allergic reaction to kiwi and held the head of a 13 year old girl who vomited from alcohol poisoning.

  6. Guy getting jumped by 5 dudes, called 911, grabbed a knife and went outside to shout at them : "I called the cops, leave him!" Luckily they comply, and slowly jog away instead of turning on me or pulling a gun. Next day guy's mother came and thank me.

  7. don't know if it counts as saving someones life from choking by performing the heimel grab(heimlichov prijem) or how is it called and stopped the choking.
Also some dude falls close to our car on the parking lot and is bleeding from the head,so used first aid to stop the bleeding from the head did call the ambulance and they came for him,old man was quite drunk that is why he fell and guess what his bag was full of wine.
Also at work somebody had low saturation and gave them oxygen by doctors orders so they wouldn't be too low on oxygen.
Not shure if these count as life saving moments

Yeah, one time when I was working as a life guard. One girl got swept out by a huge wave and passed out from a lack of oxygen. I performed CRP and saved her life.

  15. I had to call an ambulance for my flatmate once. She was suffering from kidney or liver pains, I can't remember what. Her boyfriend (who was also a friend of mine) asked me to look after her while he went to class.

I did so, but while he was in class, her pains started to get worse, so I had to call an ambulance. I stayed with her at the hospital even after her boyfriend arrived. We then visited everyday until she got better.

As far as I know, they never did find out what was wrong with her, but over time the pains subsided.

Not saving someone from death, but I feel very proud of myself for what I did and I know she's very thankful, as is her boyfriend.

  18. I was waiting at a bus stop on my way home, it was very late in the evening.

All of the sudden I heard a loud crash, as I faced up the road I seen a cargo-van toppled over to it's side at a intersection. I immediately rushed to helped. As I gotten closer, I saw a Chinese guy smoking a cigarette just.. standing there and looking as if he was window shopping. That pissed me off but I would deal with him later.

I climbed on top of the cargo-van, it was toppled with the driver side facing upward. There was an elderly Korean woman unconscious on the driver's seat. I tried speaking to her to get a response and I could hear some faint moaning, that was a good sign. I tried peeking towards the back of the van to see if it had any passengers. Thankfully there was none.

The driver's window was down and door unlocked but I couldn't get the door to open, weird. So I was going to try to pull her out but her seat-belt also was not fastening, I think perhaps because she was putting too much pressure on the seat-belt since she was falling to the passenger side. I was starting to worry, so I turned off the ignition and jumped towards the back of the van to see if I had any luck there, nothing.

Finally some people, 2, came out of their cars and tried to help. Someone from inside their car yelled out not to move the woman for it could be dangerous in her current condition. One guy started to kick the windshield and I quickly shouted to stop, the glass could have been shattered onto the woman. Seeing that the windshield is already broken, I noticed it had popped from the driver's side. So I gave it hard pull to remove it, as I did this, sirens could be heard from the distance, thank goodness. As I looked on the windshield, I though maybe with this much they would have no problem removing her.

Before they arrived, I quickly yelled at the Chinese guy that was standing there for not helping. I was really up on his face as I scolded, but he just looked on if he didn't care or maybe he did not understood English. I had really wanted to punch him.

As the Fire Department began attending to the woman's aid. I felt there was really nothing else I could do, so I started walking home, shaken.
