Monster hunter

  1. Any monster hunter players out here? I've been wanting to get into MH for a while but I've been procrastinating doing so. But now I have a question

If I havn't played any of the other games, am I missing anything story/plot wise from the prequels if i start on MH freedom unite? or is it like final fantasy where the sequels aren't even related just similar gaming style?

  6. Story..?

The series barely has a storyline..

but that shouldn't stop you from playing it.. its a great game

to be honest, it might be frustrating if you are a beginner but after you get good enough/get some friends to play with, it becomes great

Not worried about it not having a storyline I was just wondering if I would miss anything by skipping 1/2/freedom and going to freedom united right off the bat, if it barely has a storyline then thats perfect I wont miss a thing. Thanks!

Monster Hunter doesnt really have a storyline xD

you're basically a hunter and you go out to hunt monsters and carve them for stuff to make better armour and weapons. It takes practice and skill to play it. But once you get the hang of it, it gets easier. You have to memorize the monster's attacks and whatnot and learn to dodge out of the way.

It's a kick ass game and it's really fun to play with other hunters. You can take up to 3 hunters on a quest with you, making it a total of 4 hunters.

In MHFreedom Unite, you get to take felyne comrades with you on your single player quests. The game has talking kitties who stand on two feet. There's five of them you can hire for your kitchen for them to cook for you and also hire felyne comrades to help you hunt monsters.

Good luck, and I hope you get the game. Have fun!

i've been playing the game for more than 300 hours now, its actually really addictive, although sometimes it kinda p*sses you off when the needed item (either by carve or by reward) doesnt appear, especially the G-RANK quests argh...

  19. I have the PSP version of Monster Hunter and I liked it a lot. The character customization could use some work, but the gameplay is quite excellent.
