  1. I think the following post contains the two most fascinating pieces of self-revelation by a Sancom member that I've read in quite a while. It's surprising no one else has noticed.

  2. Throwing some cliches into the thread:

They dont mind staring in general. They just get pissed off when the ugly ones stare. Or people they dont find attractive.

  3. Just remembered about these:

  4. If this man was staring at a woman...

she would turn to her best side.

If this man was staring at a woman...

she would turn and call a cop.

  6. Overfiend. Did you quote that just because she mentioned having a large rack?

    Shame on you.

  7. This is a stupid thread. People in general don't like stronger others staring because it's threatening, the degree of attractiveness is irrelevant. Because women are normally in a weaker position physically and what we are taught we are naturally more aware and cautious towards things like that. The difficulties in deflecting unwanted advances of men on women are much higher than those of women on men, a woman is far less likely to overpower a man.

Hey guys, how would you feel if another dude stares at you? Especially if this dude was taller and stronger. And was checking out your junk.

I thought long and hard about this post and I've now started suspecting that the women who dislike stares from all men are the insecure kind of wench.

I tried my hardest to imagine the situation you described in that last paragraph--it's true that if a guy who is weaker than I am were staring at me, I wouldn't really care, so then what if an imposing man were staring at me? I realised that normal, friendly-looking men wouldn't faze me either, even if they were taller and stronger than me. But if it were a scary looking thug, I'd definitely feel uncomfortable. In other words, if a guy's appearance doesn't make me suspect he's going to do things other than just look, I couldn't care less. Which makes me wonder if a girl who starts feeling uncomfortable even when a normal-looking guy (even if he is taller and stronger) looks at her body actually sees normal men as dangerous. Seeing any guy who is taller and stronger than you as a potential predator is going pretty far. I bet it's a horrible way to live, too.

That's not a self-revelation, and nobody commented about that because there was no reason to. Mere has said many times before that she's bi and has a large chest, so nobody felt the need to say anything about it.

I expressed my opinion of this earlier in the thread.

Also, I've had men stare at me before, so I can understand why women wouldn't want us doing that to them. It's not as flattering as you seem to think it is.

And yes, this thread is stupid.

Welcome to the female world. Anybody can be the victim of rape, even men, but the physically weaker women are at a natural disadvantage. Getting stared at and followed is no joke, it's terrifying. There is always the prospect of being assaulted.

I've been followed around a bookstore a couple years back by a man. He wasn't particularly tall or creepy, just an average non-menacing dude about mid-twenties. At first I just thought it was my imagination but when I began erratically moving across the store into random sections, he was always there staring at me. I couldn't leave because I was in a foreign city and my parents were somewhere else, in the end I just sat by the cashier's and read. He hung around, always within my line of sight and eyed me out when my parents finally came. It wasn't even a small open-plan place either, it was one of those huge PageOne's.

In other words, if a guy's appearance doesn't make me suspect he's going to do things other than just look,

But that's the problem. Guys who are checking out a girl don't do it because he wants to chat about Harry Potter and maybe fix her leaky roof afterward. A taller, strong gay man is checking out your ass. How do you feel now?

This is the first I've heard of it.

Still, it shouldn't surprise anyone that some women look at other women.

Those are stalkers. Call them out on their bullshit and threaten to scream or kick them in the nuts.

I realized I was bi like 6 or 7 years ago. It's not much of a revelation.

  17. It's fine when its like a stranger under the age of 35. When its a relative or old man you get creeped out because there's a stereotype that they want to do much more horrible things to you than just staring or consensual sex

Most straight men wouldn't really notice or care unless it got to the point that confrontation of some sort (not necessarily conflict, but a forward action from the other party) would be somewhat probable, then it's not an issue of fear... more that "I'm gonna kick your ass if you fuck with me, figuratively and/or literally." The world is different for us, after all.
