I forgot to add that the manga end as bad as the anime, which makes things much more infuriating.
I dont get this one, seriously?.....Ranma anime never get through the actual ending since the anime stop halfway. For that, it's true....
But you are talking about the manga. Like damn, Ranma married Akane is bad ending? then what you want? He just live in Dojo with nothing going on?

You read the same manga as I did? In the ending of Ranma I'm pretty sure the wedding was postponed and not valid, Ranma is still only Akane's fianceé and things are still the same. Except, of course did the English translations screw up or did Rumiko created some new chapters in the last 7 years since I finished that I do not know of?

Well bad endings... I was actually surprised at the Code Geass ending. Normally, that kind of ending suck because they never really end up well. We always want the main character to live. But still, it was a pretty awesome ending in the end <no pun intended.
I think any ending of any superb book is gonna suck, because after going through so much awesomeness, we never want it to end.

The anime is finished though, but I want the book finish!
Actually, I haven't looked it up in like years so I'll take a look.

I'm still baffled by Yumekui Merry's ending. Yumekui Merry was a really underrated anime, in my opinion. But once I saw the ending, I didn't want to recommend it to anyone anymore. I don't remember much of the story now, but what I do remember is that there was a bunch of mysteries and questions that were about to be solved perfectly in the final episode. Everything was coming together so well and could have been answered to everyone's satisfaction, but no such thing happened. That was pretty frustrating.Make that "any adaption done by JC Staff will always have a horribly executed ending". So frustrating.

Now, Kare Kano has a shitty ending. It was cancelled. Most anime that cancelled get shitty endings.
Clannad -after- if you disregard the final episode.B't-X.

Read the manga instead. It's my favorite manga of all time.

The manga or the anime. The anime ended really abruptly at vol 15(or somewhere around there) due to problems b/w the author and the animation company.

5cm per second. The story of many lives.I was gonna say that too. It's a gorgeous movie, and the way it depicts a realistic falling out over time w/o giving us the happy ending we were expecting is really nicely done. But for entertainment purposes, the ending felt like it came outta nowhere. Like, the music starts playing and then all of a sudden, it's over. No closure.

like the US Space Shuttle Programe.
Instead of stripping it down and retrofitting what was broken, they simply ended it. So the remaining shuttles become dust collectors in museums.Posted 3 years ago # -

I do not understand that plot at all. Your typing is terrible and the whole paragraph feels like one run-on sentence, even with punctuation. That aside, it's the bad end that makes stuff legendary. Madoka, Air, Lelouch, Macross F,AnoHana. The list goes on. It's just not memorable otherwise, and it leaves the fandom with a hungry, gaping wound. Ready to be filled with buckets of merchandise and endless strings of possible new works.
Look at Macross F and Madoka. TV series and two movies, where one is just the retelling of the TV's content. Plus infinite amounts of goods and figures. Sob stories sell.
WAIT JUST ONE MOMENT
I loved the ending to Code Geass, I wouldn't have asked for anything more than what was shown.

No, I wasn't expecting a happy ending, but I was expecting some closure. The music came on so abruptly at the end, and then you expect them to show something else afterwards, but it just ends. There wasn't a proper lead up to the ending. It just leaves the viewer hanging.
I could cough it up to pacing issues. Almost like there should've been another episode but they ran out of time.

In terms of weak endings, I think Martian Successor Nadesico had a weak end. They had so much more they could've done.

Yup. The movie hardly resolved anything. In fact, I'd say the movie is worse than the series ending.
While I'm on it, INSTRUMENTALITY PROJECT is the worst ending ever. Back then, before the movies were made, if you assumed ep 26 of evangelion to be the definitive end, I would be "Whaaa.....?"
