Compile Heart is working on Neptunia V

  1. "V" as in for victory. It will be released in Japan this summer. The U.S. release date will probably in February like the first two games. The four goddesses will be the lead role again, but the candidates will have some role in the story.

  8. The forthcoming game will be 80s themed, with a parallel universe or time travel somehow involved.

I'm really digging Noire's new outfit (and this version of her isn't a goddess, apparently). Where does it say that the CPU Candidates have a role, Jack? I hope they do, but I don't see Nepgear, Uni, Ram, or Rom in any of those scans or associated material.

The story is that Neptune from MK2 is sucked into an alternate dimension that is set in the 80s. Where Green Heart, White Heart, and Noire represent old school console like the Xbox, famicom and PS1.

In this dimension, Noire isn't a goddess and a different Goddess, Iris Heart, rules Planetneptune. All the CPU candidates might not show up since it's a different dimension, but I saw a screenshot with a NepGear icon.

But in the Japanese audio, everyone sounds squeaky.

The game is only well received because we're still in the "moe-boom".

That's a friggin' shame. I would have loved all of the dialogue scenes together as a standalone visual novel (probably wouldn't sell in the West), especially since the English VA work is so superb. It's also too bad that Mk2, which has better gameplay, has so many story parts that aren't voiced.

Just what were the problems with the first game's gameplay, anyway? I really like Mk2, but I passed on the first one because of the vague and terrible things I heard. It's unfortunate, when the story and side-stories are so entertaining.

Well it moved slowly with the attacks, much like FF playing style with random encounters; One bad point would be having to rely on chance to use healing items or supportive abilities

As first I enjoy seeing all the attacks but around the end you'd want to keep tapping the skip button to tear through each battle, difficulty made me lol

You have Easy which makes yours and the enemy's attacks weaker to a more lengthy battle involving strategy and Hard which make both of you much stronger to make battles faster

  17. I started playing the first two games yesterday. I am still at the beginning. The gameplay may not be well but the characters are moelicious.

  18. Frankly the only beef I had with the game was the monsters

They were all so lifeless; The big eternal dragon you fight in MK2 only has one attack in which he walks up close to you and swings his arm repeatedly just like 98% of all the other monster

Also I never had to rely on buffs or attacks the weaken enemies, nor did I have to rely on prior knowledge to find the weakness (Earth, water, Fire, or Air) I just ruthlessly attacked everything I saw

On a last note the monsters from the first game were much more interesting the the second (My fave was that yandere girl)

    Especially the Lastation sisters.

Oh, and Nepgear and Rom. I cheered when they all killed that sicko CFW Trick.

  20. It's sad that so many people play bad/mediocre games just because there are anime girls in them.
