    3. I would send condolences to the members family, via mail means, by sending flowers or what is appropriative for the member's religious background/belief (if address is known)

I wonder how wise this would be.

Given the nature of sancon, I'm sure that many people will not be happy to hear that their son/brother/whoever was a member here and posted whatever perverted things they posted. Of course, this isn't a problem if you don't tell them where you're from.

    Yes Sir...

I thought about this as well...

In the Army, when someone would - "depart" - they would have some (things) that they had/did/kept, that would be wise to keep (secret)...

This is where - "honour" - would come in and I would do the same in effort, to ensure that it was kept that way...

Kinda hard to explain, but, I think you get the gist of what I'm trying to convey here...

Instead of making a seperate memorial for every celebrity or notable individual of our era.

I thought we could have one thread to post memorials - for notable individuals. Personal heros or individuals for whom have had an impact on our lives in some way, shape or form.

I've got some people (real & imagined) whose passing I've noted. However, I'm lousy with dates & ages, so I'll skip those.

RIP: Micheal Moorcock (Elric & Eternal Champion novels), Isaac Asimov (list of stuff is too much to begin naming), Gary Gygax (D&D co-creator), Larry Niven (Sci-Fi novels with Kazinti in them), Jimmy Valiant (pro-wrestler), Bruce Lee, Sir Alex Guinness (Obi-wan Kenobi), Raistlin Majere & Tasslehoff Burrfoot (Dragonlance novels), Justin Allard-Liao, Princess Omi Kurita-Davion, Aidan Pride, Joanna Falcon, Natasha Karensky (Battletech novels), Lastel One-Thumb & Moonflower (Thieves' World novels), Emanuel "Scout" Santana, Rosana Winter (Scout comicbook series),...
I think I'll stop, this is waaaaay too much!

No, I'm pretty sure he probably didn't exist. Nice pizza though.

Whoops! Thanks for setting me straight on that one! I really should learn to google more! But for some reason, I really did think he was dead.

I hadn't thought of Clarke. I grew up primarily watching Carl Sagan on Cosmos and reading Asimov's science articles. I've read 2001 & 2010, but they didn't really impress on me very well. Didn't hate them, just never really got into them.

So was Son Goku & Jean Grey. But like Mark Twain allegedly claimed, "Rumors of my death have been greatly exagerated!" JC is currently in Gensokyo helping misfortunate Yokai.
