Sure but this was the biggest one so far, I think.
I mean they raised 3,3kk which is a ton of cash, once others saw that they immediately got wind of a new opportunity. And that's where the sudden kickstarter fund craze for game developement came from.
I'm sure there are a lot more of those projects active now then they were before that Double Fine stunt. And others are already considering the possibility. I heard the guy behind Planescape Torment was saying something about wanting to make an old school RPG if the fans were willing to fund it.

Its no surpise I am guessing some small developement gaming company's are seeking funding from other sources other then Big Gaming Publisher Company like EA. Double Fine did some fun DLC games that were fun like Costume Quest and Trench AKA Iron Brigade which was worth 2400 points on Xbox Live I spent playing there games.
