The Weird Thread

  1. I'm not sure if this has been done before, but if so so feel free to lock this topic.

Ok, so I made this so anyone can post about something strange that happened
to them, or anything they heard or read about. So lets get started.

Oh, and one more thing. It doesn't have to be about ghost, it can be about anything.

  4. There's been (variants) of the type of Thread...

But, not one that encompassed ALL things binding...

So, w/o NECROing the others, just (link it) and continue with the discussion, for the benefit of the newer members who have joined.

    To continue on the topic...

I have always been interested in the (start point) of all things ~ "weird" - as they have to start somewhere somehow...

So, what was the actual beginnings of the Yeti legend, what was the first Ghost to be seen and why?

The UFO craze was started by Kenneth Arnold while describing his encounter while flying over the mountains... but later this was (possibly explained away) that it was just glare...

Was this just association with the RED SCARE of the 1950's? or was it something more?

UFOs were also seen during the 1800's, where described as what we now know as dirigibles/blimps now, so the question is posed again... what were they? these type of UFO's were never explained

  6. I once poked on the shoulder a girl who was sitting in the line in front of me in class. Her collar was all off and after two hours I couldn't stand it anymore, so I called her because I needed to fix it.

    And I did.

  7. So ghosts:

A long long time ago, a friend in primary school told me about when he was arone at home, playing computer games late at night. He heard a marble bouncing on the floor of the unit above, but he knew the unit was empty.
Thinking he misheard, he continued playing. An hour later, he heard the marble bouncing again. This time he was getting a bit creeped out, but continued playing. Then he heard a baby laughing from that empty unit. He ran off to his bed and hid under the covers

    No worries... just continue....

Interesting thread - for me at least - as I like to keep an open mind about such things, because (in reality) there are many things in this world that are far from any conventional explanation.

Its always later exposed as fake, shopped, and scientific explanation is always a needed debate...

Granted this is OK, but what of those other small percentile, those things that can't be explained away?

Will the tired and tried god/religious explanation be added to the mix, simply because one doesn't want say that its unexplainable?

Thanks Deth ^-^ I hope this thread doesn't turn into a shitstorm either.

  11. The wierd stuff always has a story...

......and where the story starts is (usually) based on a little known facts from real life events....

I like how Gia chooses to experiment with surrealism. I think it looks kinda cool.

    Alo

No matter how much you don't believe in ghosts, ghost stories are always interesting to read.

I used to have braces. A long time ago, I visited a relative's house pretty far from home. On the way there in the car, I realize that I left my dental rubbers back home.

When I arrived at my relative's house, I was shown to the guest room where I would stay for the night. I immediately entered the guest room's bathroom to brush my teeth, and when I approached the sink to turn on the faucet, my dental rubbers were right there, on the sink below the faucet. I was stunned since I was the first to enter that bathroom. I thought of the possiblity of it probably falling off my hands, but that would just be ridiculous. I believed I didn't even have it the entire time.

That was probably the only "weird" thing that has ever happened to me. I'd share ghost stories but as usual, although interesting, we only hear them from other people. Maybe some other time. We've all got these kinds of stories.

Actually, they are descibed more as a cigar shape and are still sighted, mostly outside of North America.

  19. Here's something from me.

I went down to the basement in the Pirates House in Savannah on a tour.
Although nothing happened to me, it was dark, hot and confined. I could
understand why people would feel uncomfortable down their.

  20. My sister says she seen a ghost in her bedroom three times. She says she doesn't really believe in ghosts and it could have been a trick-of-the-light, but its decidedly weird. My house was built in 1901 and can be pretty creepy at night.

My Dad witnessed something odd when we stayed in an old cottage across a lake from an abbey in northern France. He was laying in bed and felt a hand on his face, he thought it was my Mum but when he turned she was facing the other way.

I'm really interested in anything supernatural, though I've never witnessed anything myself.
