     Thank you. In the room were myself, my fiancee and both of her parents. In Japanese, I said to the father something to the effect of, "I love your daughter very much and I want to continue being together with her. I would like to receive your permission. Please allow me to marry your daughter." And with that I bowed my head down to him and held it there for a while. It must have worked.

     Many relationships failed because men are not flexible enough to deal with the situations!

     E.g. A flexible man will not argue back, will apologize and will accept punishments when he's in the wrong (soft).
     E.g. A flexible man will become strong and protect his family when face dangers/situations/crisis which require him to do so (strong).

     Might be the way you put it but it does not sound like someone who is that passive when wrong will ever be capable of being that aggressive when needed.

     Sounds like we are talking about unrealistic ideals.

     Stop living in the past era and using old standards.
     It's time to improve and become a modern flexible man.
     Have a happy relationship/marriage in future. ^^

     I wouldn't say that they are rare, but they are less common than what I regularly see in America. In general, Japanese girls are thinner and therefore have less 'curves'. Still, about 1/3 of Japanese or so are overweight and with that the accompanying big boobs. Big boobs on thin Japanese girls are rare.

     Japanese girls tend to show off their legs rather than their chests.

     That's true. I forgot about that. I'm not sure how often Japanese women undergo plastic surgery, but I'll guess that's it's less than the American average.
