  1. It seems Iran has banned Barbie dolls and kids are less then happy with the replacements.
Most amusing is that the culturally correct dolls have unibrows.

  7. I'd cry if my mom had gotten me one of those at the age of 9.

Or I'd simply make her a complete make-over, starting with those eyenbrows. Eek.

  8. Wow...

If any other nation had produced those dolls, the Iranians would be crying about how they were being mocked. Now they do it to themselves.

    One can only laugh!

I see no problem with this. Barbie dolls promote an unhealthy body image.

    Good on you, Iran.

  11. I had barbies when i was a kid and I didn't really give a shit about or pay attention to their "perfect" bodies. they were just pretty and i liked to play with them. adults always over think things.

  12. I would not know. I had Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers and X-Men figures. That being said they are awful looking.

I liked playing with 'em too, but there's a point where you realize that Shit Is Fucked Up™

The article is dripping with fat-girl envy; you could tell the writer was overweight without even having to google image search her name.

There are tons of barbie dolls created for (just about) every ethnicity known, some collectibles are done with a countries respective attire. Naturally these dolls are not as high in popularity as Barbie herself, but they do have decent sales and are still being produced every year.

It's head-shaking how people think a doll is single handily the cause of social concern.
