  4. Tea is awesome. You can't beat a hot cup of Tetley's with semi - skimmed milk.

  5. Star Wars is pretty average as far as Sci-fi goes. It's pretty amazing and fun, but "good"? No.

  6. starwars was good before Lucas decided he could do better.
    Han shot first, damnit!

that said, the books are better.

  7. Star Trek is actually clever whereas Star Wars is just a Good vs Bad movie in a sci-fi scenario. Plot-wise you shouldn't even compare the two.

  8. George Takei ended the debate recently by calling for peace between the two sides, anyway. It's all said and done now.

  10. I love both tea and coffee, but the caffeine makes me turn to tea more often. Already have problems sleeping at normal times as it is.

^This. I'm honestly not that crazy about the movies. They're good, but it's the books that makes me a star wars fan.

    Son, I am disappoint.

When I see Dutch who don't eat raw herring
When I see Germans who don't drink beer and wear leather dungarees
When I see blacks who don't steal
When I see English who don't drink tea

    I get all confused.

Two sides? There are no sides for me, anyone that tries and compare apples to oranges are definitely not talking about two sides. You flip an orange, you don't get an apple. You flip a coin, you get the other side. Star Trek and Star Wars are apples and oranges, not sides of a "sci-fi" coin.

Who cares which one is better, anyways? What would the better "side" win? The nerd-crown? People are going crazy nowadays. Society represses a child so much that a fucking TV show is what defines them as a person, what the fuck? If love for light-sabers is not a sign of repressed sexual libido I don't know else is!

Just be sane and do it like sane people do: like both, there's nothing dislike-able about them, specially if you understand the circumstances in which they were released.

Of course I'm not addressing you, Ribbons, just a general rant.

You can always do that, as well, but it's fun to be able to communicate to people. Anything that'd be source material for an eventual conversation is a good thing to watch.

I wouldn't ever recommend either of them as "the best things of the genre you should watch", I'd just say "well, everyone knows about them, they are both pretty good and you should probably watch it, there are better things out there, though".

You're too young, I wouldn't even expect you to have an interest in old special effects or in an old pseudo-intellectual tv series.
