   The Visual Novel Katawa Shoujo, which revolves around a number of girls with various disabilities, has been released after 5 years of development and is now available for download, free of charge. The game, which has been featured on Sankaku Complex twice (see Disabled Girl Eroge “Katawa Shoujo” Developed by 4chan and 4chan Eroge Katawa Shoujo / Disability Girl Demo) originated on 4chan.

   After some brainstorming, a small team was formed by some of the 4channers, naming themselves after 4chan (four leaves studio). Despite this, they were quite keen to distance themselves from the Anonymous horde, especially since a number of the developers weren't 4channers.

   The game is about Hisao, a boy who has a rare heart condition which forces him to transfer to a special school for the disabled. From that point on, the game follows the usual visual novel dating sim routine where the player tries to get on the good side of the girls in hopes of seeing it pay off, with the twist that all the girls have a specific type of disability.

   The game follows the standard Visual Novel format and features no voice overs, though the quality of the visual novel appears to be quite high, especially if one considers that the game is free. Sex scenes are included, though adult content can be disabled should the player be uninterested in finding out how sex with for instance a deaf-mute would turn out.

   I have yet to play the game myself, so spoiling things for you will be a bit hard. That said, I would like to ask people not to spoil the game for others in this thread, just in case.

   I'm sure somebody will inevitably post the game CGs of Katawa Shoujo in the Sankaku 2D channel once people get to it though.

   Yea, I already mentioned it in the video games thread some time ago but haven't got much time to play it until now.

   I'm roughly 2 hours into the game and so far I can safely say, I'm really liking it.

   The music is great, that's for sure. The setting is very interesting and writing is also worth mentioning. All the characters I've met so far are extremely likeable. It really does have that high quality feeling to it, especially the animated cutscenes. (I like how you're barely a few minutes into the game and you already die... well not really)

   Unfortunately I already got heavily spoiled on /a/ and /jp/, it was quite amusing to look at the shitstorm though, when everyone found out none of the girls are virgins.
   But I'm still gonna finish every possible route.

   Play it for yourself and see.
   And the CG set is already out, if you're smart enough you'll find it yourself.

   Shock Cocoon? I'm guessing it's still in development.
   And then there's also that other VN project Peter and Maeriden were working on, what was it called again?

    You had your own space at C81? What were you selling?
    Also, I'm pretty sure those were the guys who did the original artwork and character designs for the game not the actual game devs themselves.
    I heard they were selling some character art related material.
