Bandai is shutting down it's presses

Bandai made it expensive to sell Gundam Unicore, and harder to buy it in stores. I tried finding it at my local Video store it seems Bandai didn't even care to release it in some stores. From what I remember they wanted to sell on the Bandai website I guess that failed.

Wrong bandai and if's pretty much the japanese price. Oh and it also has a global release well worth the money to not have to wait over half a year for the translation.

I loved Toonami when I was a kid, but I can't say that this news has upset me at all.

And that's your right. I also like how you're more respecting of the thread.

I find it funny that they would advertise B Gata H Kei on ANN, considering how much they disliked it when it first started airing.

This tells us NOTHING of actual worth the first one didn't. They gave us all the pertinent info for this topic yesterday.

For 50 to 60 dollars on Blu-Ray which is fine for one OVA episode because Bandai set it at that price not many people are going to buy it.

  8. people tended only to buy sets with very reasonable prices, which we understand is what fans want, but it lead us to a different strategy than what Japanese licensors wanted,"

Because they expected US consumers to buy a Blu-Ray with only two episodes every few weeks? pfft.

Pretty much everything in that interview was at LEAST implied in the first one.

The first post was basic info and people just guessed at stuff. The interview was concrete information.

I don't think anyone but a certain demographic of Japanese buy episodes in that manner.

Most of the world either buys DVD/Blu-Ray episode sets or they buy/rent it on itunes, Amazon, or netflix.

Hopefully someone else will pickup Gundam and Go-Sick.

And nothing of value was lost.

Well... this all but confirms to me a major reason why the Japanese entertainment industry has fallen behind in the last 10+ years; complete and total incompitence at the top. How else can anyone else explain Bandai's situation, Capcom's stagnation save for Inafume's gambits, and SE's Wada still having the top job despite doing nothing to justify it.
